Pretty sad these days when all it takes to be Top 34 is to make every start. It's the same teams making the race every week. It's financially not worth it for poor teams to risk not making the show, so they stay home. Obama seems to think it's OK to just let NASCAR die.

Something else I agree with Obama on!  He's right!

Jim Frenette -> RE: NASCAR (6/6/2010 12:24:41 PM)

Matt don't know if Robby was going to be here today or not, but Ted Musgrave qualified his car and didn't make the field

Please explain to me how he wasn't locked into the field!?!??! He was 34th in points!!!!

Let me guess...NASCAR changed the rules just to screw over Robby!! It's probably Top 33 locked in now or something.

Maybe because he didn't qualify it himself

Apparently Robby was out of the Top 35 in owner's points, despite being 34th (before last week) in driver's points. How did that happen? Some of the other teams probably forced him out of the Top 35 by selling their points and all that crap they pull. It's really disgusting what the big teams can get away with.

Robby sent out this personal note to me and the rest of his fans.

IMO he needs to stick with one thing right now. Stop this Baja crap

Yeah, but he probably wouldn't have been able to qualify any better than Musgrave. There are many, many times Robby would have missed the field if he wasn't in the Top 35. He's a terrible qualifier. Musgrave probably gave him a better chance of making the show than anyone, including Robby himself. I guess Robby was docked 25 owners and drivers points a few weeks ago for an illegal door. What the hell? That cost him big-time. Now after missing a race, he's fallen waaaaaay behind #35 in owners points. He's still in 36th, but not by much. And the gap up to 35 is huge. You can't afford to miss that first race because you get a ZERO that week and will never catch up to the guys who have made every race. He probably won't make another race this season, other than the 2 road tracks.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (6/9/2010 1:53:13 PM)

Jim, quit helping the Lynx thread stay ahead of NASCAR in # of posts. We're catching up here!

Trekgeekscott -> RE: NASCAR (6/9/2010 2:43:01 PM)

Seriously, if you need help to beat the LYNX in posts...

This isn't worth talking about.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (6/9/2010 3:17:27 PM)

Thank you for your participation, Trekkie. I know you like NASCAR more than the Lynx; the proof is in the number of posts you have here compared to your Lynx posts. I don't know if you've ever posted on the Lynx. I love closet NASCAR fans.

I find auto racing to be stupid and boring.  Watching cars drive around in circles to the left just doesn't interest me.  But trust me...there is no closet love here.

Basketball, on the other hand, I hate.

Can't explain why...Just hate it.  I'd rather watch NASCAR, That Afghan game where they ride around on horses throwing around a dead goat or paint dry than pay any attention to anything regarding Basketball.  People can never understand why I have no interest in the NCAA brackets in March.  It's simple really...I hate Basketball.

Jim Frenette -> RE: NASCAR (6/21/2010 9:55:39 AM)

Matt no comment on your guy finishing 2nd yesterday?

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (6/21/2010 5:46:15 PM)

He's the best road racer in the world. NOBODY can deny that.

Jim Frenette -> RE: NASCAR (6/22/2010 9:49:51 AM)

Who do you think would win a race between the Road Runner and Speedy Gonzalez?

Whew!  That's a tough one.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (8/5/2010 8:52:43 AM)

Great race at Pocono on Sunday! That wreck caused by Jimmie Johnson was really a bad one. We only got one angle of Sadler crashing into the wall, so it was difficult to tell how fast he was going. But with his engine flying out of the wreckage, that's a pretty good indication he was still going fast! That crash would have been fatal if not for the Hans (sp?) device they started using after Earnhardt's death. Good to see a Ford in Victory Lane. That one's for you, Jack Roush!...get well soon! That guy has nine lives after surviving two plane crashes.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (8/5/2010 9:05:59 AM)

If you haven't seen the crash, here ya go:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQXugT11Js8

Most of the video is of Kurt Busch's #2, which was also involved in a crash at the same time. Fairly early in the video you will see Sadler's #19 with the engine laying on the track. Then at 1:37 you can see the only video that captured Sadler's crash. Look at the bottom right of the screen and you will see the head-on collision. I was so relieved when they said he was OK!

Jim Frenette -> RE: NASCAR (8/5/2010 9:53:35 AM)

I agree the Sadler hit was terrible and if not for all the safty changes that NASCAR has instituted it probably saved his life. I think the car itself is much safer then the one Dale Earnhart was driving

jl1718 -> RE: NASCAR (8/9/2010 6:29:10 PM)

Montoya wins, WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Robby must have really PO'ed the racing gods to have two cars go out within laps of each other.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (8/21/2010 9:26:19 PM)

Can someone explain to me why Robby Gordon is suddenly driving the 07 instead of the 7? Some guy named Conway is driving the 7.

SoMnFan -> RE: NASCAR (8/21/2010 10:38:17 PM)

So ... is this Kyle Busch the dude, or does everyone else just suck?
Helluva week.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (8/22/2010 11:33:22 AM)

Not enough being made of the fact that Busch admitted to intentionally wrecking Keselowski to take the lead (and win) in the Nationwide race. Since he admitted it, why aren't they taking that win away from him?

Looks like Robbie owns both cars as he is back in the 7 today. Conway didn't get in the field with the 07
