All need to be put out to pasture

Isn't TK pretty much in the pasture already? I think his role in the organization is roving curmudgeon.

I smell his stench on the collective stink.

Really want to see this guy get some regular run up here, nothing to lose.
Seems the more-polished OF to me, out of the stable-full we have.

The game long ago passed TK by.
As proof, exhibit A, I offer his hand picked successor.

Thank you and case dismissed.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/31/2016 6:41:05 PM)

Kepler moved to the #2 spot, rbi double in the first.

Quade sure has success moving guys around.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/31/2016 7:36:03 PM)

Rosario HR'd
Berrios stumbled

Roch down 6-2

Gardy was not his hand picked successor. TK had nothing to do with the pick.

Don't kid yourself

TJSweens -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/31/2016 9:22:12 PM)

Gardy was one of 4 TK assistants up for the job. There were no outside candidates because of the contraction rumors. Kelley said he didn't want to be part of the process and wasn't endorsing any of his assistants over the others. Rumor was that if TK actually favored anyone it was Molitor. Ryan went through a long drawn out process during which Molitor withdrew, leaving Ryan to choose Gardy over Ulcer and Newman. TK went to the horse track and never looked back.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/31/2016 9:27:01 PM)

Tyler Jay fanned 11, 1 walk, 2 hits in 8 IP tonight, 98 pitches/73 strikes

TJSweens -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/31/2016 9:27:58 PM)

Needs to cut down on those strike outs and pitch more efficiently.

Tyler did not go to a two-ball count after going 3-1 to Champ Stuart to lead off the 4th inning.

Damn infielders could fall asleep with that kind of efficiency.
One of the worst things I've ever seen in all my years of baseball.
It disgusted me just hearing about it.

Nobody likes a showboat. That's not how we do things son. The downside if Jay flies through the system becomes a top starter is that it will forever validate that stupid draft relievers and try to turn them into starters philosophy.

Except Jay was a starter in college; they chose to have him in the 'pen last year to get some work in, but not throw too many more pitches after a full college season.
There were thoughts he might zoom thru and help them down the stretch, but the plan had been for him to be starting this year.

I thought Jay had moved to the pen during his last year in college. My mistake.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (6/1/2016 10:12:56 AM)

Jay was in the pen for all but 2 starts last year, after 41 starts in the previous 2 years.

In the NCAA tourney, moved him back into a starting job. Then the Twins went bullpen, with intentions to have him start again.

So you're right, I'm right, too [:D]
