Did Costco have a "buy one second baseman, get 17 free" deal going on at one winter meeting that TR attended?
Or was that a Dominos-sponsored promo that Billy Smith fell for?

I swear the DSL kids they're developing are all trained to start at SS and move to 2nd.

I did that too .... once I lost a step.

Luis Arraez 4 for 4 so far tonight for Cedar Rapids. 7 for 9 so far in the series.

With a name like Luis Arraez, he better not be a Catcher.
If he is let's ship him off to DC.

2nd baseman, youngest MWL batting champ since...............

Mike Trout

Not "highly" regarded prospect. 5/10, 155lbs, 19 year old, hit a little over .300 in GCL last year

31 walks/51 strikeouts in 475 at bats.

only 3 dingers, had 31 doubles and 3 triples.

They probably once said the same about Jose Altuve

Arraez will probably post similar power numbers as Mauer.

AB Walker strikes out. A lot.

BUT......

Adam Brett Walker led the Rochester Red Wings with seven game-tying RBI, 16 go-ahead RBI and 23 two-out RBI. Oh, and 75 total RBI.

When Adam Brett Walker homered for the Red Wings this year, the team went 20-4.

Damn
Impressive
If he could cut down the Ks at all, we may have something

wethrock -> RE: Players and prospects III (9/18/2016 10:58:53 PM)

I got to see Berrios on TV the other nite pitching against the Mets. His motion is quite different than when he was in NewBritain;
And, he had very good control when he was here. Does anybody know why changes were made? - whatever they were, they're not working.

We have no idea why they are messing with him. One of the great mysteries of this season.

Because the Twins want everyone throwing with the same mechanics. Kohl Stewart is another one destined to be completely ruined by the time he makes his way to the Twins.

Black 47 -> RE: Players and prospects III (9/28/2016 1:40:27 PM)

So who's the projected #1 pick for the Twins in June?

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (9/28/2016 1:44:05 PM)

6. Hagen Danner RHP HS Huntington Beach, CA Commitment: UCLA

7. Alejandro Toral 1B HS Archbishop McCarthy, FL Commitment: Miami

Black 47 -> RE: Players and prospects III (9/28/2016 1:44:59 PM)

Who's your choice Ed?

Black 47 -> RE: Players and prospects III (9/28/2016 1:45:51 PM)

Ryan would take the catcher from Florida.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (9/28/2016 1:46:19 PM)

This mock had ATL at #1 at the time, picking Kendall

http://www.fueledbysports.com/2017-mlb-mock-draft/

Then MN

2 Minnesota Twins Alex Faedo RHP 6'4" 220 Florida
Faedo has been great for the Gators in his first two years there, posting a 19-4 record and a 3.20 ERA in 166 innings. He has a plus-potential fastball to go with a solid slider and a decent changeup.

The starter with the best fastball.

No idea who it is. Hopefully SOMEONE that Falvey brings in gets it.

Black 47 -> RE: Players and prospects III (9/28/2016 1:48:39 PM)

Is Kendall the clear cut top player in the draft?

MDK -> RE: Players and prospects III (9/28/2016 2:00:35 PM)

Hunter Greene RHP HS Notre Dame, CA Commitment: UCLA

The top prep arm on many boards to start the year will be Greene, who touches 96 mph and oozes athleticism; he plays shortstop when he’s not on the mound. He’s also shown a plus curveball, and if he can throw his changeup with more consistency, he has a real chance to be a top-10 pick.

I want a guy who is young and can throw hard. And then we can change his mechanics to shave 2 to 3 mph off his fastball and get him to have an average fastball at best.

We can also teach him how to hit bats for 6 Years in the Minors, by then we'll be talking about the next phenom arm on the farm.

Alex Faedo? Any relation to former Twin Lenny Faedo?

Right-hander from Alonso High School who played for his father, head coach Landy Faedo

Could be related. Lenny is a Tampa native, and this kid is from Tampa.

Funny correlation....Landy was Jose Fernandez high school coach 2009-2011.

Faedo had double knee surgeries this week.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/alex-faedo-sidelined-fall-ball/

It also rhymes with Fredo.

Just sayin'
