Not so slappy...but he can't get the average to .240, striking out a lot.

Seem to be lopping off room on the 40-man, making room for the next prospects. Need to clean parts of the house. Palka, as a lefty, doesn't have much future. Add in the 1st rounder stud that already ended at FTM, and Palka is AAAA fodder.

In case you're wondering why Twins did not go after G.Springer in the draft out of high school: He had a big growth spurt late in HighSchool; CT high school baseball is not really very good, and he attended an area prep school (Avon Old Farms) that plays low-level competition. Sounds like everyone expected him to go to college (his father is an area attorney). Twins did draft him in a very late round, maybe as a favor to the coach, who is a relative of the RockCats owner.
--I must have seen Springer on the field playing catch with Torii before games; there was another similar instance. Back in the late 1960s, Giants AA team was in nearby Waterbury. Bobby Bonds was a big prospect, and his 2 toddler-age sons would crawl/walk thru the aisles. Who knew what little Barry would become?

No they aren't robbing us.

If he was good enough they would have kept him on the 40 man roster. There are better more deserving guys they needed to protect before the Rule V draft. That's what they are doing here.

Palka clearly wasn't in their long term plans...

Darkhorse emerging from AZ fall league is Andrew Vasquez, who had 12.2IP 9H/2R/5BB/14K in 11 outings.

Lefty that apparently makes batters swing/miss. >>>> fall league compared to Jay. Eades/Hackimer were average RHP.

Hitting, Paul hit .292, but fanned 20 times in 18 games, Wade hit .238, and Miller slapped to a .255 clip. Zero to look forward to.

Bring on the guy they drafted in 1A last year. He has the best chance of impacting the roster with his bat.
