You can.

But not a Woman or a Dog named Wander.

How is Jeffers doing on the defensive side?

Better than expected is what I’ve heard

Both kinds.

At the risk of (or is it the hope for?) pissing off some posters ….
Here's the mock first round choice for us ...

13. Twins: Shea Langeliers, C, Baylor
The Twins like Carroll, but with him off the board, they could set their sights on Langeliers, a terrific defensive catcher who has shaken off a hamate injury to come on with the bat of late this spring. He also homered to open up the Big 12 tournament.

I think almost everyone would agree you just go with best player available in the baseball draft. If it's a catcher, even better. I like it.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/24/2019 9:49:18 PM)

Roch lost matching 6-1 games. Same theme. Bullpen sucks.
Thorpe gave up 1 run. Gulimet gave up 5 in game one. Second was a full bull game and Baxendale and Weiss(no idea) each coughed up 3.

Gordon had a hit in both games. at .320 right now

Pensacola lost 5-1
Blankenhorn had a hit, stolen base and scored on a Kirilloff single.

They tried Alcala after the opener's 2 innings, didn't help, had 5 walks in 4IP and got the L. ERA is 4.31

FTM lost 4-3 in 11

Larnach with 2 hits 2 walks and a run, Lewis 0-5, and Jeffers 2 hits including a 2 run HR(#4)

And CR made it a full night of Minor league L's, 4-1 loss

Ben Rodriguez soon to be minor league lifer, with 2 hits.

twinsfan -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/24/2019 9:56:09 PM)

Ed loves Blankenhorn.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/25/2019 10:14:40 AM)

RHP Randy Dobnak (@ABBattlers) will be brought up from Double-A Pensacola to make his Triple-A debut tonight for @RocRedWings. He has a 1.69 ERA in 8 combined starts for the Blue Wahoos and Single-A Ft. Myers this season.

Maybe you don't care about the position at all, but if this is Joel Reuters he declared the Twins to have a void as in nothing there for catchers throughout the organization. The guy is an idiot.

Graterol is on the IL with an injured shoulder. A bunch of other high prospect ranking Twins minor leaguers have serious injuries as well. I guess we now know why Graterol was in Minnesota.

Brusdar Graterol is going on the IL for Pensacola with a shoulder impingement. While the Twins said that they are bringing many minor leaguers in to Target Field for evaluation - which is 100% true - Graterol was brought in this week to have his shoulder evaluated. A shoulder impingement is not a serious injury in and of itself, but if not diagnosed and treated, it could become worse.

Stephen Gonsalves is going back on the IL for Rochester with a left elbow stress reaction. Gonsalves felt a little elbow soreness in spring training and the team decided to be cautious with it. He slowly worked his way up to being able to return to the Red Wings rotation. Last week, he made his first start of the season, but he struggled and left after two innings. A stress reaction in and of itself isn't terrible news, but it will require rest. Obviously the hope is to avoid Tommy John surgery.

Akil Baddoo, the talented Miracle outfielder, will miss the remainder of the season with Tommy John surgery. Baddoo went on the IL about ten days ago with the elbow pain. It was further evaluated and the UCL was torn, so Tommy John it is. As a position player, the hope is that he will be ready for spring training in 2020. He will be having the surgery about two months later than Alex Kirilloff had it in 2017. Kirilloff was full go around Thanksgiving.

Another outfielder, Rochester's Luke Raley, is going to have ankle surgery. Raley went on the IL a week ago. It is unfortunate because he was playing well and playing hard and really making an impression on those around the Red Wings.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/26/2019 10:52:57 AM)

Twins have had several position players now with TJ surgery.

Wow

TJSweens -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/26/2019 12:31:14 PM)

Gonsalves is probably headed for one in the not too distant future. Stress reaction in the elbow and forearm is usually a precursor to a UCL tear. That's why Gibson dropped the year we drafted him. Sure enough, he wound up having TJ in the minors.

RED WINGS REPORT
Rochester 7, Pawtucket 3
Box Score

The Red Wings ended up as the only Minnesota Twins affiliate to play on Memorial Day. Kohl Stewart pitched well and the offense put together a huge inning to give the Red Wings the win.

Stewart worked six innings. He gave up three runs (just 1 earned) on three hits. He walked one and struck out three. He improves to 4-2 with a 3.19 ERA. DJ Baxendale threw two scoreless innings, and Preston Guilmet worked a scoreless ninth frame.

Down 2-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, the Red Wings tacked on six runs that inning. Following a John Andreoli sacrifice fly, Nick Gordon drove in another run with a triple. Zander Wiel singled in Gordon. Jake Cave drove in a run with a double. Finally, Randy Cesar drove in two more runs with a single.

Cave went 3-for-4 and the double was his second. Wilin Rosario was 3-for-4 with his fifth double.

The Red Wings are now 18-29 on the season.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/28/2019 4:08:55 PM)

Bryan Sammons didn’t just thrive with @MiracleBaseball, the LHP dominated.
Prior to today’s promotion to Double-A Pensacola, Sammons went 4-0 with a 0.94 ERA in 8 starts. He allowed 4 earned runs in 38.1 innings.

Lots of pitchers moving up before mid-season

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/28/2019 4:10:53 PM)

A few position players too

Cabbage up to FTM

Blankenhorn to AA

and both are doing well after the move.

This regime more apt to move guys up that deserve it EARLY.

Rather than mid-season break.

TRyanosaurus was strictly move them at the half season unless there was an injury that forced them to move sooner.

I hear Jhohan Duran is hitting triple-digits easily?
