Stacey King -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/10/2015 2:10:50 PM)

One solution to our outfield problem -about a month from now- is becoming apparent. Dave St. Peter lets it out.

Seems clear now the plan is to try and tread water with the crew we have while Rosario gets some full time OF minor league duty to make sure he can field the position and get some reps. While also keeping his attitude right, which was an issue in the past.

but Eddie played RF last night. Which seems kind of odd. Hole in CF up here and they seemingly do not want to rush Buxton at all after his almost completely lost season in 2014.

DSP hints Eddie Rosario could be up before Sano and Buxton. Not terribly surprising

Burdi seems early on like a high wire act. really good when on but capable of blowing up on a dime.

maybe 98 and straight is not as good as 94 with movement when he doesn't have 2 strikes on a batter.

May have to learn how to dial it down to smooth out the roller coaster ride.

First outing in CRapids was a disaster last year, got better after that.

Hoping for the same.

Nice.

A Burdi, Meyer, Perkins troika at the back end of games could be good when the Twins get good again.

Jake Reed as well would really strengthen the back end of the pen.

Chargois is supposedly back in the mid-upper 90s too. Starting this year at FTM

Nice day down on the farm!!!

ewen21 -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/12/2015 8:52:05 AM)

Buxton needs to get his bat on track. Last season was totally lost due to injury and a lack of hitting. It's early but he is off to a slow start.

I know he has all these "tools" and he can run like the wind....but I want a guy who is an All Star bat as well. He's been touted as the #1 prospect and to listen to some fans you'd think he were God in the making. I am not saying I don't think he'll be a good player. I am just a bit concerned about his bat right now. He needs to get it going. Could give a rats ass about how many infield hits he beats out or how many balls he runs down in the OF. I want him hitting over .300 and slugging

ewen21 -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/12/2015 8:55:11 AM)

And this Jorge Polanco kid looks like he can be the real deal. I have no idea why the Twins needed extend Dozier in their haste. They had him under team control anyway.

I know...they're in love with his "make up"[&o]

Given this org

Decade

THey should move him up mid-season

but

Sigh....

They like Mejia(Aball)
They like Polanco(AA)

so now "there's no need to rush him"

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/13/2015 11:36:24 AM)

Lookouts 6 run 2nd in get-away game, up 6-0 so far.

Buxton a couple of hits, including a double in first 3 innings.

They were supposedly trying to get rid of Salty in the offseason to make room.

I wonder if that's enough time already to save a year in arbitration.

Phil Riewer -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/13/2015 2:01:04 PM)

Kid is 24 already...I was going to post something about that is how you do it....2-3 years older than our best prospects.....

SethSpeaks mentions Wickens 5-9 in his first 2 games.

Good grief, I'd hope he could hit.

26

and still in AA.

Fantasy?

Yup. Big long-term keeper league. I trust King's judgement - he gave me the Oscar Taveras tip a few years ago. We'll see if you can match that.
