Lots of good news Ed
Thanks as usual for the reports.
Its about the only baseball worth talking about so far this year.

Stacey King -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 10:00:04 AM)

It's Alex Meyer day at Triple-A Rochester. Game is already underway, with the Wings trailing 1-0 after one inning

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 10:25:08 AM)

UP 2-1 now on rbi's from Hicks and Pinto

3H/3Walks in the first couple of innings-plus, 5 strikeouts helps bail him out.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 10:28:41 AM)

2-2 in the third. Meyer will be 70 pitches or more after 3IP

Can you say BULLPEN?

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 10:33:52 AM)

3 run 3rd and counting

5H/4BB for Meyer

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 10:38:05 AM)

72 pitches in 3IP
6H/4R/4BB/5K

Curse of the Twins. Can't get a "hot prospect" pitcher to actually pan out.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 10:58:41 AM)

How long before we find out that he has another injury?

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 11:46:39 AM)

6-6 now, Pinto has 3 hits

But I'm sure all the problems Meyer had are on him.

Whoops

nope

Fryer is catching today.

Gardy Myth busting continues, even at the AAA level.

Alex Meyer will be fine. He's just off now. He's succeeded in AAA before & will again. He won't use the excuse but he's had a tough spring.

Molitor said this spring after Meyer was sent out that he pitched as if he had the weight of the world on his shoulders...or something to that effect.
Right now he is pressing AND is struggling with mechanics.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 12:51:47 PM)

And over half the people on the board said he was ready for the big club

Honestly, with so many of their best prospects reaching the upper level of the farm system, there is no reason not to have full blown youth movement at this point. The duds, has beens and never weres that fill out this roster is pathetic. KC took their lumps accelerating young players up the ladder and look at them now.

Your post makes sense.

I know a team that did that once and had great success 5 years later and they were enjoyable for another 5 after that.

I give you the 1981 and 1982 Twins!

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (4/15/2015 8:43:36 PM)

Chatt has wasted Duffey's 8K/7IP allowing 3 to tie the game.

Duffey has 18K's in just under 15IP

Walker has 2 hits and his 2nd homer.

Well he is 25, I suppose he could end up as one of those 30 year old Rookie of The Year candidates, but you never know,
some guys pitch better in the bigs

Walker will play next to Buxton in the outfield for 10 years.

Let's just hope half of those aren't in the Minors.

I don't know who Granite is,
but with a name like that I'm encouraged.
