I thought the draft was at 7:30 pst????

Ditto. I didn't see the change until I logged in to draft at 9:30 CST. That did not go as planned.

Where was that? On the league website? Ian had the first 2 posts of this thread with 5:30 PST and 7:30 CST since 8/22

Yeah it was on the league website. Oh well. My first 4 picks went well then it got ugly when the damn robot starts filling in things early. There should be a setting for that if autodrafting where you can force what round for kicker, tight end and defense. I DID have enough common sense to add Detroit to the "do not draft" list. Since Yahoo had them rated 3rd for some stupid reason.

1. (11) Montee Ball (Den - RB)
2. (14) Julio Jones (Atl - WR)
3. (35) Le'Veon Bell (Pit - RB)
4. (38) Vincent Jackson (TB - WR)
5. (59) Vernon Davis (SF - TE)
6. (62) Chris Johnson (NYJ - RB)
7. (83) Robert Griffin III (Was - QB)
8. (86) Jay Feely (Ari - K)
9. (107) Pittsburgh (Pit - DEF)
10. (110) Colin Kaepernick (SF - QB)
11. (131) Markus Wheaton (Pit - WR)
12. (134) Brian Hartline (Mia - WR)
13. (155) DeAngelo Williams (Car - RB)
14. (158) Ladarius Green (SD - TE)

I am very happy guaranteed one of Peterson, McCoy or Charles. Thankfully I pick high enough that I don't have to consider Lacy or Forte.

Any one of those five would be just fine.

Isn't that you with the first pick? OK you take Lacy.

I agree, 4th spot sucks

4th spot is awesome if you have no conscience. If you have a conscience it sucks.

Don't see how that works. You've got 1a, 1b, 1c, then the next tier. Is the drop off that steep coming back around after #4s 2nd rounder? Probably not.

A lot of people look at it as 1a 1b 1c 1d 1e and you get first shot on the steals on the way back.

It sucks that some of the league didn't get the time change message. However it is what it is. Chedawgs emerged as the Yahoo designated best drafter drafting out of the two spot. David and Che were traitors to our purple selecting McCoy and Charles one and two and leaving Peterson for me.

Yeah, I double checked the time on the Yahoo site before going to bed the night before the draft, figuring what I saw there was official and that the time listed in here was a mistake.

I would never have taken Ray Rice or Dwayne Bowe, and overall would have made several other different choices. It doesn't feel like MY team like a team I actually drafted would. Kind of like a team full of Favres. Oh well. At least there's no money on the line.

Here's Yahoo's Finest (Bold indicates WTF picks):

Stranger in the Alps
1. (10) Dez Bryant (Dal - WR)
2. (15) DeMarco Murray (Dal - RB)
3. (34) Toby Gerhart (Jax - RB)
4. (39) Victor Cruz (NYG - WR)
5. (58) Jordan Cameron (Cle - TE) (TOO SOON!)
6. (63) Cam Newton (Car - QB)
7. (82) Ray Rice (Bal - RB)
8. (87) Seattle (Sea - DEF) (TOO SOON!)
9. (106) Mason Crosby (GB - K) (WAAAAYYY TOO SOON!)
10. (111) Lamar Miller (Mia - RB)
11. (130) Dwayne Bowe (KC - WR)
12. (135) Charles Clay (Mia - TE)
13. (154) Terrance West (Cle - RB)
14. (159) Carson Palmer (Ari - QB)

So, that pretty much kills my enjoyment of this league.

You can tell there was a lot of autodrafters. Those are the people that had kickers and defenses drafted in rounds 8 and 9.

My experience, this year, is that is pretty much where Seattle is being drafted. I would have taken them with my next pick if your autodraft hadn't already snapped them up. IMHFO the worst part about the autodrafters was there was very little downward movement of players. I could tell by how many spots from the top a player was when they would become unavailable to me.

And I would have been quite happy to have let you do so! I wouldn't have taken any defense at that point, myself.

Oh well. I'm just going to have to kick everyone's asses with a substandard collection of players.

Seems like there is potential for a trade here. So sorry about you missing the draft. GL.

Eh, live and learn. Next year, I'll pre-rank even if I'm 100% certain I'll draft live, and triple check the time on the morning of the draft. In the meantime, I'm looking up recipes for lemonade.

Do you think your team is so bad there is no hope?

There's always hope - thus the aspiration to lemonade. It just doesn't look anything like a team I would have picked. I don't have the same attachment to it I normally would - it feels like if I lose, I never had a chance, and if I win, it's got little to do with me. I'm just along for the ride.

Whatever. I'm expending more emotional energy on it than a grown man ought to put into a hobby.

Its my fault.. I apologize for the few who didn't get the time change notification. I didn't realize I had the draft at 9:30pm Minnesota time until the day before the draft. That's was waaaay too late.

But, I still feel bad for DeLain and Ben.

I was especially amazed at the end of the draft when I realized I didn't a single Viking or Packer on my team. I can't remember that ever happening. I've since rectified that situation with Teddy now sitting on my bench. I hope they play him on week 6, that would be my only need if every thing goes according to plan and we all know how often that occurs....

I am commissioner in another league, so I certainly understand how these things happen. I just needed to vent, and have done so. And I have already executed a trade (now pending) that will make me feel a lot more interested in my team, so consider my bitching complete. 13-0, here I come!

I'd certainly entertain offers for Erin Rodgers.

Thanks Todd, we have to keep the Oesterreich hold on the championship after all, eh?

It was a fun league, liked the small rosters with the need to make a lot of FA moves to survive, thanks to Ian for putting it all together again!
