Any interest? This is pretty neat.

Receive a 22% ticket discount when the Minnesota Wild honor Joe Mauer next Tuesday, February 12th

Dear Matt,

Join the Minnesota Wild next Tuesday, February 12th when they honor Joe Mauer during a special pregame ceremony.

Through a special ticket offer, Minnesota Twins Season Ticket Holders can come see the Minnesota Wild take on the Phildelphia Flyers on Tuesday, February 12th at Xcel Energy Center. The night will include a salute to Joe Mauer to honor his achievements throughout his career with the Twins!

So instead of $100 per nose bleed seat, you only have to pay $80 to watch a bunch of snipers miss the goal by only this much.

How many events and venues are the Twins going to bleed out of Joe Mauer's retirement? Further, how long until he is announced as a minor league coach on the fast track to replace Baldelli or whoever other guy happens to be in the way as Twins manager?

Twins signed Lucas Duda today.

Which makes no sense.

They already have too many 1B/DH types.

It's called a heavy platoon and a deep bench of power bats. Sure beats the Punto and Tyner days.

If Lucas Duda makes this team, then the off season was an abysmal failure.

Failvine continue to pile up the minor leagues with rejects from other organizations. Apparently, they think they can turn a POS into gold or make a trade of some of these misfits to another org for draft picks or a quality ML player.

Outside of the nerd speak and the desire to have more than banjo hitters in numerous spots, the acquisition of talent isn't all that far, overall, from the Ryan days.

Everyone does it, I get that.

The results are no different. Hope for improvement in position guys and patch a pitching staff together. Not much different than the Ryan days.

I have. Twice. They won't read it. I think it's genius. I'm not giving up. Seems like they are phasing the listener picks out.

Nelson Cruz has hit more HR than any player over the last 5 years.

If he struggles here, will he blame...

A)The living batters eye?
B)The wet concrete?
C)Joe Mauer?
D)The wonderful food options?
E)Mosquitoes?

C

I'm in agreement with all the negativity on this move.

No, it is smart. I envision him being an opener at times. And if he does open, there are times he could pitch into the 2nd or 3rd innings. And I could see him getting some time in the 4th and 5th innings when a starter has a bad game. Then obviously he'll get chances in the 6th-9th innings at any given time. I didn't dare go any higher than the 11th inning, because there really aren't too many games per year that go into the 12th inning and beyond for any given team. Baldelli will use May in a variety of ways this season. Trevor May does not need a defined role. His role is to get people out when called upon.

It won't matter anyway. May will develop arm troubles by mid-May.
