The moral of the story is; don't get down 28-2 in the first game of the championship series in your own building. That's just inexcusable. Reeves was seething about that when they tried to interview her in the 4th quarter after the Lynx had closed it to single digits. The Lynx need to learn to adjust faster when a good defensive team makes it difficult to feed Big Syl.

If you had asked me if it would be possible for the Lynx to ever fall behind 28-2 in a game I would have said that is just about outside the realm of possibility.

On the bright side, if they play like they did the last 3/4's of the game, they'll win the series. Scintillating basketball.

They'll run the Sparks off the court in game 2. Just gotta find a way to win one in LA.

First there was the 28-2 deficit that I missed while watching the Vikings. Second there was Freaking Chelsea Gray raining shots on us to thwart our comeback and the dagger with 2 seconds to go.
Her play was simply all world for this one game.

Reeve is not pulling any punches with her team:

“People say you battled,” she said. “That’s what the hell you’re supposed to do. You’re competing for a championship. You’re supposed to battle. We did what we were supposed to do in those 32 minutes. You guys can focus on that if you want to. That’s what I call Loserville.”

Good to see: Best overnight rating for game 1 ever. +20% over last year

Interesting markets: The top five markets were: Nashville (4.6); Minneapolis (1.9); Birmingham (1.2); Hartford-New Haven (1.3); and Knoxville (1.1). Los Angeles delivered a 0.7 metered market rating.

I don't get why Nashville was way higher ratings then Mpls.

kg, finally a post I can agree with. Weird. Must have something to do with no baseball or men's hoops in Nashville.

Knoxville also high ratings. I think it is the Pat Summit Effect. Tennessee loves its womens hoops. UCONN area rated well too.

Only downside is......

she's latching onto PA's catchphrases (if I'm remembering correctly).

Augustus turned back the clock in that last game, but it is true we are aging. However, We have Maya and Syl and that will be good enough. Unless FREAKING CHELSEA GRAY has a repeat of that last game.

Nah, it's the Uconn and Tennessee effect in general.

DL, can you just let me have...my one moment of glory....ONE GODDAM TIME?? I hit the nail on the head with the UT and UCONN effect. But you had to try to mold it to your opinion.

What I posted didn't invalidate your statement, only added a little extra context to it.

Have a little faith in yourself, Matt.

So far this series looks a lot like last year.

Lose game 1 on a buzzer beater, rout them in Game 2.

Hopefully today's game will stick to the plan for 4 quarters.

Brunson clearly took to heart her poor Game 1.

28-10 after 1.
