Apparently the Strib accidentally posted it for a few minutes and then took it down.

I guess that's why we got the more official image early.

Here's what I do like and that is the Green Star.

It's the North Star.

It's the North Stars.

I'll always miss the North Stars.

They fought back, played well in the 2nd half and increased their chance of drafting Isaac.

Isaac sounds good. Time will tell if he is good.

He's...not great.

In love with the outside shot - takes almost 3x as many 3s as Free Throw attempts. Unfortunately not a great shooter. 32% from deep, 41% overall.

Poor rebounder and defender - which is always going to be a problem because he has really poor length and isn't real quick.

It's OK. A little cringeworthy in places. And it's a little odd they're hyping this 'new beginning' when at this point all that's changed is a slightly re-made logo. "This is for the midwest! This is for Flip!"

Or, you know, for T-shirt sales but whatever. How about win a game first.

OK, first, I kind of liked the growling wolf, but admit the new logo is fine.

What rubs me wrong is marketing in general. The problems of this franchise have nothing to do with logos. I have confidence we are in the early stages of a TWolves renaissance but I object to even the notion that a new logo is some kind of meaningful step forward. Its what you do when you want to distract peoples attention from other issues. Because of this I would have preferred they didn't do it.

Actually, I find the optional move to T-shirts instead of traditional basketball jerseys interesting. Seems the TWolves have selected these more than most of the other NBA teams. I am fine with either and expect the only reason for them in the league is/was to try and improve jersey sales.

I don't know his name but he was a long time courtside ticket holder. At every game. Dressed in a suit. Watched the game like he was coaching it. Often crouching down on the floor, he always had a newspaper and was constantly banging it on the floor, shouting encouragement.

Very interesting. Wolves have lower fangs but not upper fangs.

si.com grades

Minnesota Timberwolves: C–

Record: 31-50 | Midseason Grade: C | Off. Rating: 10 | Def. Rating: 27 | Net: 20

There are some who will rush to label the Timberwolves as one of the league’s biggest disappointments given that they fell way short of preseason Las Vegas projections that pegged them to be a winning team. That’s too harsh. The Timberwolves were a young squad with a new coach and zero track record of playing quality defense. As such, their season wasn’t all that surprising, although the loss of Zach LaVine to a season-ending knee injury qualifies as a body blow.

All signs point to Minnesota making the leap, a la the 2016 Pistons or the 2017 Bucks, next season. Karl-Anthony Towns has become an undeniable force, Ricky Rubio has played perhaps the best ball of his career in recent months and Andrew Wiggins has gradually improved his scoring efficiency. Plus, coach/executive Tom Thibodeau enters the summer with a better understanding of his personnel and the requisite spending power to address his roster’s weaknesses. Sometimes the hype arrives one year too early for young teams. Bank on Minnesota doing bigger things in 2018.

It was well done, but too much nostalgia considering this is the worst run franchise in the history of the NBA. Nothing proud about their history. I enjoyed the Mussleman era because they were new and he squeezed everything he could out of those teams. But take away their one playoff run and this has been a 28 year disaster. Finally, now there's a bright future.

That video was actually embarrassing.

Of course everyone said last year, bank on Minnesota doing bigger things in 2017. They were only two wins bigger.

No I don't want Thibs fired or anything. But he is 0-1 in delivering what a reasonable person would consider to be a successful season. It was a failure.

Need a loss tonight.

A loss guarantees us the 7th lottery slot. A win could potentially bump us to 8th or 9th.

A loss combined with a Knicks win would give us a coin toss for 6th.
