Good to get the home W.

For those that don't like it when somebody comments on one game, stop reading.

I do think the short preseason schedule hurt a little, but that excuse has an expiration date.

I absolutely think we will get better relatively quickly, but all the other good teams will too.

We beat the most unathletic starting five in the league at home. We didn't look good doing it.

Glad we won. Our HC is better than our GM. We will regret the Teague/Gibson acquisitions.

On the bright side, having questionable starters forces Thibodeau to go outside of his comfort zone, and play his bench.

Glad they pulled out the win, but it did nothing to make me hate giving up Rubio to get Jeff ****ing Teague. But at least we’re paying more!

Put Rubio on this team ... we may be something to reckon with.

10 point comfy lead with 2 min left
Tie game with 1 minute left
Ugh.

I should be the poster boy for keeping Rubio. Prior to this off season, I was all about entertaining trade offers, or even initiating them. His reluctance to shoot weakened our offense. We finally surround him with scorers, where his weakness can be marginalized, then we trade him?

The Butler acquisition should have solidified keeping Rubio on this team. We downgraded the position, got older and paid more.

Utah is going to appreciate his defense, and I love defense, but that team is not a good fit for him. Always said, Rubio in transition was where he shined. Jazz can't run, at all. They don't even want to. Snyder has the Duke pedigree, which guarantees job security, but I have doubts about his ability to adapt to today's game. I'm not even sure he recognizes the talent he has.

Good game but the ending left a really bad taste in my mouth. I want Ricky back. F ck Thibs.

For a guy who lives eats and breathes basketball, what in his brain told him a more expensive Teague would be a better fit than Rubio? What told him a washed up Gibson was worth $14 million a year? Talk about being in an amazing position to construct an amazing young roster that would be relevant for years, and completely blowing it.

We're going to have to play WAY better on Sunday.

Butler had a handful of huge plays, but didn't have a great overall game.

Wiggins had a strong half.

KAT wasn't good again. He looks a bit out of shape and he clearly misses the easy looks Rubio got him.

Taj was mostly solid.

Dieng is playing in molasses.

Both PGs were not good.

Really Bjelica and Crawford were the only guys who really played well.

I tried to tell ya Crawford would help you guys...

Does he take some wild shots, and look totally out of control sometimes, yes, but he appeared to be your only player that could create for himself, and make shots from long distance (Especially in crunch time)

Basically this team’s identity is going to have to be defense. And they’re a long way from that. But it’s going to be ugly, boring, low scoring, defensive Thibs basketball. If Thibs can win a championship playing that style in today’s NBA more power to him.

Hee won the game last night. I lost the post I made that said almost the same thing as Kurt did here. He can't do it like he did, but even when he's off he's a great guy too have on your team. Too bad his time there didn't overlap with Zach, who may be an athletic version of Crawford in his career.

I think it's safe to assume Crawford is going to be a 4th quarter mainstay for the foreseeable future. He saved the game.

Crawford is a great guy and teammate. And he probably loves to play basketball more than just about anyone on Earth.

There will be games he saves our asses, and games where he kicks our asses.

We have some of the best offensive talent in the league. We will be scoring 110 a game. Write it down.

Yeah I like your team, I just don't see at least at this point enough long range shooting.. Crawford has always been that (Although streaky).

Thought he was a no-brainer signing for you guys.

Same coach last year and we scored a ton. Better talent this year.

Some thoughts after watching the first couple of games...

Not really seeing the real Jimmy Butler yet. I'm not worried, but he hasn't been very good yet.

I like the Crawford signing. DL, you stated he'll help us some games and kill us other games. That may be true, but if he's killing us he shouldn't be getting minutes that particular game. That's Thibs job.

I've always been disgusted by Wiggins's defense, but KAT is just as lazy and disinterested on that end of the court. I thought Thibs would get these guys buying in on that end of the floor last year, and that didn't happen. I thought having Jimmy B would scare them into playing defense, but not so far. IMO, it's just an effort and focus thing. The next time KAT boxes out will be the first.

Totally agree with everyone's thoughts on Rubio vs. Teague. Not a good sign when Tyus is getting significant run in the 4th quarters when the dude couldn't get any minutes last year. The sad thing is that Tyus is actually in upgrade on D when he comes in for Teague.

Hopefully we can get more out of Dieng. He looks lost right now, but I think he'll get better. I wonder if he'll start again at some point and send Taj to the bench. Bjelica has been great, hopefully that's a trend.

It'll probably take some time to mesh together, so I hope we can tread water at the beginning and then turn the corner soon. Should be a fun one to watch tomorrow.

I try to know as little as I possibly can about salary issues ...
Would it be impossible to get Rickey back at some point?
He seems to be thinking what we are ... as in ... why the hell am I not running that club?

Our HC and POBO would "both" have to want him...

He's played limited minutes, but OG looks really good. Especially since no one knew if he'd be ready at the start of the season.

Looking like that 3&D Big SF/Small PF that we're so desperate for...

I've watched a good chunk of both games so far, and I've been most disappointed in KAT. His lack of effort and awareness on defense is galling for someone with his physical gifts. He just doesn't try hard enough far too many times down the floor. And then there's the lack of basic fundamentals like boxing out...
