i will go back and watch every pass in the rams game, probably case's best argument to remain the starter.

i will rank every pass play as

1=below avg NFL starting qb can make that throw
2=average qb makes the throw
3=above average qb
4=top 5 qb throw

it will be subjective and include, difficulty, placement, touch, good read of defense/decision, pocket awareness, etc

eyeball test only

and then

A=Teddy makes that throw
B=Teddy does not make that throw

so basically, a running tally/comparison

most likely will bore everyone, feel free to skip my assessment

Let me know which ones Joe Kapp can, or can't make ....

I just watched a replay of the Vikes / Rams. With about 3:30 to go in the 3rd quarter Case Keenum got 9 FREAKING SECONDS to throw the football on a 1st and 10 play....

Is that the play where we gained 5 yards? - I was thinking Rogers would of had 40 there

Morgan.
Had to scrape it off the ground too.
Just watched it on the all 22.
4 guys out in a pattern, Iceberg with a chip.
Pocket drifted right.
Nothing open.
Got something.

I'm still a little shocked when I see Vikings 8-2 on the screen.
Go TEAM.

Pretty much gonna be all 2's and 3's.
And A.
Because they are very similar.

But yeah ... the next time he evades a first tackler, will be the first time he evades a first tackler.

RC used to get crazy long time, fairly regularly. Those almost always ended up being huge gains.

In a way, this is a deja vu of 1998... but in a different way. Crazy good team loses a damn fine starting QB early, backup comes in and shines. Coach runs with the hot man even after the "starter" is ready to come back. Of course, this time it's a dominant defense instead of the offense... but the result is we're in a very similar situation.

Were I the coach, I'd probably be doing the same thing in this circumstance. If we were 5-5, it's a whole different story.

That said, IMHO the mistake we made (in 98) was not recognizing when it was time to make the switch. I fully expect there to come a moment when the game gets too big for Case. Rare is the guy who never has that moment. Hell, we watched Tark go through it in the Steelers SB... but we didn't have the luxury of another starter-quality signal caller sitting on the bench in wait.

We had that luxury in 1998 and we have that luxury again this year.

It could come next week. It could come when we're playing to win HFA. It could come at any point in the playoff run. It might not come until the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl. But I fully expect (that) it will come. Keenum is no Unitas after all.

I'm just crossing my fingers that Zimmer will recognize that deer-in-headlights look and have the internal fortitude to make that switch when the time comes. DG either didn't have it, or was so stubborn to prove (whatever point he wanted to make) that he pissed away our chance.

The thing that gives me hope is remembering that Zim pulled Bradford earlier this year when it became clear he couldn't play. That moment is coming again, at some point this season... but it's probably not going to be because of a physical/athletic issue, so much as a mental/confidence issue.

Hopefully, we don't repeat the same mistake we made in 1998.

I don't think Zim will ever pull Case this year. Case will be the starter, unless he allows himself to get hurt.

If Case can beat any of the next 3 opponents on the road, and that team makes the playoffs this season, then Case is the right QB for the Vikings to be starting in this year's playoffs.

Extraordinary play

MVP consideration

0 TD's
0 TD's
1 TD
1TD 1 INT
0TD 1 INT
2TD 1 INT
1 TD

Those are 7 of his 9 appearances. To go along with 217 yards per game. Those say neither extraordinary or MVP.

Come on folks. Us Tedheads are accused of promoting something that the numbers don't support...yet...

Now I;m not saying Teddy's year 1 or 2 numbers are extraordinary or MVP worthy...but...I'd be willing to compare numbers under pressure...even though Case has faced what, 80% less?

Its 244 Yds/gm for Case. http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/passingYardsPerGame

Not as off as you think. Numbers improve and Vikes keep rolling ... MVP consideration.

That said- nothing will surprise me regarding Teddy and what he is capable of.

I only did yards/game for those 7 games. Those other two games are good yardage games.

I don't know why I'm pushing this but if you took Teddy's 2015 year and picked his 7 least yardage games his average is 172 YPG.

He's had some low yardage games and the most TD's he's thrown in a full season is 14.
Blame it on whatever ... it's still nowhere near enough to replace Case.

You wanted to see some magic ... it's happening ... just not the way you expected.

I know why your pushing it, because you are VP of the Lil Jeffy fanboy club..., haha J/K.

I just watched a replay of the Vikes / Rams. With about 3:30 to go in the 3rd quarter Case Keenum got 9 FREAKING SECONDS to throw the football on a 1st and 10 play....

Any comparisons to those offenses are a little skewed IMO.

Damn it, I just snorted beer out my nose.

Man I wish we could somehow see Case go with the OL, RB's, WR's, OC Teddy did.

Not so much magic I would imagine.

Why does that matter?
We are WINNING right now.

That's what it's all about.

no, winning the super bowl is what its all about

i have already seen 15-1 in the regular season....dont care

i dont care if we are 8-8 in the regular season

win. the. super. bowl.

that is the one thing left to do

Absolutely.
Need to take advantage of this opportunity.
Probably should go with the guy who played us into this opportunity too.

i guess, ponder led us to the playoffs, too

i refused to be blinded by a playoff appearance back then, and i refuse to do it now

watch the passes, they are not acceptable for us to win the super bowl, IMO

will Teddy's passes be better? I dont know, maybe, maybe not....

all I know is that Case's BEST year is not enough from what I am watching

is Case enough for playoffs, yes...dont care

is Case enough for division, probably....dont care

is case enough for playoff win, maybe...dont care

the ONLY question worth asking...is case enough for superbowl win, no (imo)

and because its no, we shouldnt waste a year when we have things in place, next year is not guaranteed

JMO, and i dont expect anyone else to be on my side.....its hard to look at 8-2 and say its not good enough....

there is only one spot that is not good enough for a superbowl win, that is our current QB.....will teddy be better? i dont know, again i only know that the current QB is not enough

sorry for the rambling
