I'd like for the myth of 'Keenum was a 3rd-stringer' to get put to bed. He was the backup. Teddy cracked the roster once and that was after Bradford was out.
Right. I'd like to know when he was #3 on our QB depth chart.
Keenum had a great season, but came up small when it mattered most.
No need to embellish the story.
Picture this scenario: Aaron Rodgers breaks a foot in pre-season practice and it's bad enough that he's out for the year. Brett Hundley starts the season but in the third game is also injured and will not return. Then a guy named Schmoe DaToe rises in the ranks and finishes the season for the Packers.
In that scenario Schmoe DaToe is the third string quarterback.
Same as Case Keenum.
Except that, in this case, the injury happened during the previous season. Case was brought in to backup Sam. I don't think there was any expectation, beyond a hope, that Teddy would play this year. As in, they were certainly not counting on him playing, which is why they signed Case.
