So Buckets finally strolls into practice, throws down the gauntlet and then afterwards publicly rips open the festering wound that has been the Timberwolves organization since its inception for the entire world to see.

I can’t help but absolutely love the man for it. Sometimes in life, you actually get what you deserve.

Taylor needs to hire a defective and see if Thibs is in on it. Void his contract.

More from ESPN

quote:

He told Nichols that he plans to practice with the team again Thursday.

Butler acknowledged that he can be hard on teammates, especially Towns, but he said on Wednesday that the All-Star center started it all by talking trash to him -- and Butler responded.

"Am I being tough on him? Yeah, that's who am I," Butler said. "I'm not the most talented player on the team. Who is the most talented player on our team -- KAT. Who is the most God-gifted player on our team -- Wiggs. Who plays the hardest? Me! I play hard. I put my body [on the line] every day in practice, every day in games. That's my passion. Everybody leads in different ways. That's how I show I'm here for you."

Too bad for the fringe players, the guys just trying to make the team seeing Jimmy "Kavanaugh" Butler act out as the rich, hurt, "passionate" guy.

Rings more like the old ABA.

PSA:Comments about how Wiggins and KAT shouldnt be "soft" are toxic reinforcements of awful, abusive behavior that creates terrible workplaces and relationships. Jimmy is an asshole and a terrible employee and his teammates not resorting to felony battery isn't a sign of weakness

How do we not have a press release from the Wolves announcing that Jimmy Butler has been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the franchise? Glen Taylor should tell Tom Thibodeau he is going to suspend Butler and if Tom wants to quit that's just fine.

Thibs needs to be fired immediately:

Thibodeau praised Butler for the fire he showed.

"If he’s here, or he’s somewhere else, once he gets there or he’s here, he’s going to give you everything he has,‘’ Thibodeau said. "He’s a competitor."

Thibs lost all of his remaining credibility today and no longer possesses the authority or leadership required of his position. We can focus on what Butler did at practice, or we can talk about what really matters: A strong leader would’ve never let this happen under their watch.

Huh. So this whole thing was staged? If that’s true, you’d have to think Thibs was either complicit in it or beyond naive about what was going to happen.

But either way, holy shitshow Batman...way to rip that band aid off, baby!

It's the old: if being honest and passionate and wanting to win makes me an asshole, then I'm sorry for being honest, passionate and wanting to win. That's just me being real...

It's like I said, Butler returning to practice is going to make Thibs not trade him. Thibs will ignore the circus because at least he has his guy back on court. So all Thibs sees is hope.

I remember going to games and watching games on TV where Garnett said Mother*&*F#$ a crazy amount of times in a game....loud enough to hear from the cheap seats. I am sure KG said as much as Butler in every practice and more.

I don't think swearing is the issue here.

Yeah, I really don't see how anyone can use that as a comparison. Butler's outbursts were directed at his teammates, coaches and GM. He is just trying to make himself such a toxic dick that they have no choice but to trade him.

On one hand Butler has a point, the young guys don't want to win bad enough.

Butler is a douche for his methods and actions.

Thibs is awful, a dinosaur coach for today's NBA game, he belongs at a mid major college. At a mid major the coaches, players, and fans all have a chip on their shoulder. He would do great in that environment.

Franchise is going nowhere with Wiggins boat anchor of a contract.

Losing as many games as possible is likely the best thing that happen to them. Hopefully get another lottery stud.

I feel sorry for anybody that made any type of financial sacrifice to buy Wolves season tickets. I hope few did.

ESPN reported that Butler plans to show up at practice again today? Seriously? This is like WWE UFC, the commissioner needs to start ask some questions.

Thibs sees this as acceptable behavior and as long as Jimmy plays, the rest is gravy to him. Until Uncle Glen fires Thibs nothing changes. Thibs is not going to trade his man Butler, who can do little wrong. This needs to be a wake up call for uncle Glen or the nuts will continue t run the farm. I have never heard KG blast management, by the way.

I don't think it's a matter of the young guys not wanting to win bad enough as it is that they haven't fully learned how. Towns is 22 and Wiggins is 23 and for the most part they have had to figure it out on their own. Butler blew into town and rather than make any attempt to mentor a couple of guys he himself says are extremely talented, he chose to berate them for 82 games and then refuse to fly home with them after the playoffs. But, yes ...

Butler is a douche
Thibs is Denialsaurus Rex
Taylor is the biggest f***ing idiot to ever own a franchise at any level of any professional sport.

I listened to Glen Mason on Dan Barreiro's show yesterday. Different sport of course, but his take is that after a fiasco like yesterday's, he has no idea how Thibs could have even a shred of credibility left with his players.
