Wolves first Summer League game is on tonight at 10pm CDT on NBATV.

Looking forward to watching the rookies. And I really like Jefferson (who tore up the GLeague for us last year).

Summer League thoughts:

Okogie: Non-stop motor, great defensive stance, seems to have terrific instincts on when to go for a block or steal. Offense is very raw. Needs to tighten up his handle a lot and clean up his shooting at the rim. Jumper needs some tuning, but it’s not horrible. In 4 meaningless games I saw more defensive instincts and desire than in 4 years of Wiggins.

KBD: A much more finished product than Okogie. Doesn't have near the quickness of Josh, but really understands positioning. Smart player, but will need to show he can play against NBA caliber athletes. He’s really slow - reminds me a bit of Kyle Anderson. With his smarts and length, I think he has a chance to be a solid role player.

Amile: I love the kid, but I'm not sure there is a place for him in the NBA. He's a 5 in the body of a 3. I think he could make a ton of money in Europe. I’d still give him a shot as a 5th big.

Terrell and Cousins: I don't think either will see a minute of floor for us. Neither has been good. No idea why we rushed to sign Terrell to a 2-way.

Stark: The one other kid on our team I like. Was a really good scorer in college and it seems to be transferring. I love his defense. He's smart and relentless. But I worry that he's too small to make it.

It also didn’t help that we had no creators on our team and it forced the rookies into primary offensive roles - something that neither excels at.

Good to see the 2 rookies are passing the eye test.

Still can't get over why we signed Wiggins early when could have waited and let other teams determine his market value.

Seems the fact that the NBA is loaded with bad contracts that teams would take more caution esp on a max deal.

This. Absolutely this.

And regarding Okogie around the rim, he has the uncanny knack of not squaring himself - odd for someone who appears to be a pretty decent outside shooter.

He's as advertised. Super raw on offense and an absolute terror on defense.

It probably didn't help him that he was thrust into WAY too big of a role in college last year, but he's a hard worker and I think with a lower usage, he'll start to figure it out. He'll never be a 20PPG guy, but I can definitely see him as a really good 3&D player that also brings some playmaking to the table.

Yeah. I agree. It's just kinda rare to see someone who has a decent stroke. Can hit the 3 and FT% isn't bad. But when he puts the ball on the floor, he doesn't square up and on his jumper, his legs flail a bit. It's weird.
