interesting read on Cousins.

http://www.1500espn.com/vikings-2/2018/11/kirk-cousins-aggressive/

On pace for 4800 yards = 3rd least aggressive QB in the NFL.

Yeah weird article.

Reminds me of the Danielle Hunter isn’t really as good as his sack total says.

Honestly I can’t remember us having a more aggressive down the field passer in quite sometime....

But what the hell do I know.

Very weird.

Most people have been saying they'd like to see him occasionally settle for the smaller play instead of always looking for the big one.

I reacted the same way. Pretty strange, didn't match my overall perception. The willingness to throw in tight windows, quite a few of them I thought. But maybe compared to Keenum and the rest of the league he isn't as aggressive? Holds onto the ball instead of pulling the trigger on balls that might be contested?

IDK.

Seems like these uber stats guys typically can't see the forest for the trees.

Only 12.4% of his passes thrown into tight coverage. What a wuss muffin.
Or maybe it has something to do with how quickly his main targets are able
to get separation and he doesn't have to throw into tight coverage?

ESPN FFL has Thielen listed as questionable for this week. First I heard of that.

It is an interesting stat it just doesn't necessarily mean what is implied. Keenum had more contested catches to the same receivers. Are they getting more open? maybe, but I also suspect Cousins is doing a much better job throwing it so that it isn't contested. I have no stats to back this up, but my general impression is that he is getting it there quicker so that dbs have less time to recover when Diggs and Theilen create an opening and is finding the windows for the right ball placement. Our QB last year did a great job trusting our Wide receivers to make a play, but he had to rely on how great they were at contested balls a lot more.

"Here is a fact, punters & kickers don’t forget everything they learned once they get to the NFL. Very few people know how to coach them, so@leave them the heck alone and if they need some tweaking, find someone who has done it. .... " - Greg Coleman

So Priefer, leave Bailey and Wile alone, unless they need some tweaking, and if so, then find someone who has done it.

Correct. For the organization's entire existence. That is their calling card.

I think this also highlights the importance of a strong arm. Cousins throws with much more velocity.

Last season, the pass catchers were probably open when Keenum threw the ball. By time it arrived, the DB's had time to recover. Cousins gets it on you quickly.

Yo, Art!

Art has a number of spin options here. Right off the bat he can point out how Alex Smith is ahead of Cousins and therefore Washington did the right thing. Other excuses, err options, include small sample size, just numbers, etc.

Our zenith was Tarvaris Jackson coached up to run plays on just half the field and throwing those jump passes.

My personal fave was Ponder’s fail mary. He let it ‘rip’ from the 50 and it landed at the 10 🙈

And on the other end of the spectrum we had Josh Freeman.

(Somehow doesn't matter if he actally threw it out of Giants Stadium or it was photo shopped. The crap we've had to talk ourselves into as Vikes fans...)

I haven't really watched the Bears play this season.

We know they have a good oline and can run the ball well.

Offense
20th passing 243yds/g
12th rushing 120tds/g
29.9 pts/g scoring

Defense
12th passing 236yds/game
2nd rushing 84yds/g
19.4pts/g against

Trubisky has 19tds and 7ints. Has over 300 rushing yards. He is a good athlete and has taken off a lot on 3rd downs after escaping the rush to get first downs.

Rogers 3 & out on his last drive - with a tipped (batted) pass on 3rd down. You could see it in his eyes he didn't want to come to the sidelines.

Our boy KC throws that and we might be a little pissed

- shit, I'll say it, probably the prettiest touchdown pass I've ever seen thrown earlier on - gag me

Very pleased to read how poorly that went for the Packers last night. The no challenge, the punt...hope they stew in it and are checked out early next week.

Their run game has struggled the past 2 weeks since Long was put on IR. If we keep Mitch in the pocket we got them, don't think he can make the necessary secondary reads. I worry about their DLine vs our OLine as well. Just might come down to the kickers.

I wonder who is to blame for the wasted TOs. Because I think they called them to avoid delay of game penalties.

Is McCarthy not getting play in on time or is Rodgers slow to get everyone up to speed on play call?
