The Vikings will replace Tony Sparano by making Clancy Barone and Andrew Janocko co-coaches of the offensive line. Barone has been the tight ends coach; Janocko had been the assistant OL coach. Senior offensive assistant Todd Downing will coach tight ends.

Good and expected. Have zero issue with this.

Looks more like a cop out to actually making a decision

Or maybe it's just the team working through a sudden and unfortunate circumstance. It's not always as easy as the fans would like dude.

Remember, somebody died. As in dead. Not fired or quit or retired. DEAD.

Have some sympathy and trust for this one.

Sporano passing was a tragedy. But naming a successor has to be done.

Zim needs to show leadership. This looks a lot like waffeling.

Naming two sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Again, spoken like someone without understanding the concept of emotion. You know they buried Sparano yesterday. YESTERDAY.

Not sure you've been involved with a death of a coworker in a tight knit group. I have. And the attitude of, "get over it" and/or "pick somebody to permanently do that job" only sounds good from afar. It's not realistic or fair. The loss of that person effen hurts and nobody initially gives a shot about any of that stuff.

The situation has to first normalize and only then will sound, thought out decisions be made. You and your haste isnt allowing for that to happen.

So, again, have some sympathy and trust on this one. And sprinkle on a heavy dose of patience too.

Agreed. I thought he played very well when called upon. Good nose for the ball. Rangy, but still willing to get dirty/make a tackle.

Probably more a reflection on the safety market than Harris himself. Quite a few good veteran safeties still unsigned.

There is no rush to need to put someone in charge. As long as they get along and can work together all is good. The offensive coordinator and head coach is the same. This is a lower level position to be so upset abut. All is good.

If this thing happened maybe 3 or 4 weeks ago, it might be different. Atleast now there’s a chance for some continuity into training camp / preseason.

It also acknowledges that Sparano had more than a plug and play role on the team. Nobody on the team was ready to step into this role immediately ... maybe one will get pegged later when ready. Adding a brand new coach would have been disruptive no matter how good he was ... getting up to speed on the current players and offense.

Thank god the function of the job is more important than job titles.

Well articulated though.

Just seems strange thing to do and an invitation for a power struggle later.

But, as Ian pointed out, there are things more important than football at the moment.

Is that your predicted order at end of camp? Or is it the Order as of today?

Prediction/the way I'd like to see it play out.

from today's practice....

Arif Hasan@ArifHasanNFL
Looks like Treadwell is currently running with the ones in three receiver sets.

Not a surprise. Hes been running with them the entire offseason.

Unless something dramatically changed from last season to this one Wright is the better WR of the two. Maybe something dramatic happened. If so hopefully it's Treadwell just got a lot better and not due to any decline in Wright's play.

Fun to watch the young DBs in #Vikings camp. In the WR/DB drill, Holton Hill had a PBU on a Robertson dig. Horace Richardson also had a great rep on a Thielen fade, too. I liked him in camp last year.

That's damn fast.

If he can catch and run routes we may something in this kid.

Maybe even in a CPatt type role.

Speed kills.
