Every hockey mom or dad in the country gets thrown into a mess every year,,, trying to squeeze 40-80 games into a winter on short notice
And they all do a better job of it than the geniuses at the NHL

Happens to us every year. Get a game or two in then 4 days off. Next week we play 4 games, 2 back to backs, (travelling both times) then have 4 days off again.

Unless this happens only to the Wild, I don't understand the complaints?

Outsiders wouldn't understand.

The frustrating thing is that after weeks like this in the early season, the Wild invariably wind up playing about 10 games in 14 days to close out the season.

This year in the final 36 days of the season we play 18 games with 3 back to backs and only one stretch of 3 days off between games and 3 with 2 days off between games. The rest are all every other day. Yup, another stellar job of making sure we don't get any rest going into the playoffs....if we make them.

Nothing like grinding them down right before the playoffs. And for some reason the NHL has added a stupid bye week into the schedule. Makes absolutely no sense.

The point is

We sit around twiddling thumbs for 4-5-6 days at a time
During the season
Not once
Several times
There are morons setting up these schedules.

It's not just us but you guys are right. No matter who it happens too, it's just plain stupid and completely avoidable.

Remember that article from 2010 that talked about how Mikko wasn't a scorer or a superstar (even though he's paid like one) and doesn't put up numbers or flashy stats? You know, the one that mentions that his teammates respect him because he plays defense and wins some FO's?

Well, it accidentally got published again in the Strib.....for the 8th consecutive year.

Well on a brighter note, the Wild are going to try to unlock Ek by putting him on the first line with Zucker and Staal.

Wow, our new GM must still be on the Nashville payroll
Not sure I've ever heard someone blow so much smoke over an opponent
Remember dude ... they're supposedly your opponent now.
I'm all for seeing success and emulating it ... but jeezus, have some pride.

Seeing very little out of Greenway so far
I hate how I let my expectations get way too high on some of these guys
We've got a dozen guys who APPEAR to be the prototype new young forward models ... and really none of them have overachieved yet

Lets see how predictable this group has become

* couple days off
* feeling some heat
* spouting off about tweaks and practices needed and other BS
* a couple minor, superficial, temporary "changes" to the lineup
* lots of releases to media about how we're gonna straighten things out

You've seen it
I've seen it
A million times with this group
Chicago comes in tonight, lets see

* we'll be all over them early
* huge attack and shot disparity in our favor
* will enter final period clinging to a slim lead
* will eventually surrender the lead and leave the rink telling everyone to be happy with the improved effort
* slip back into old habits and blame everything but the real problems and go .500 over the next 4 months.

Not impressed with his effort level.

Seems awfully conservative with energy output for a young buck.

Making quick work of us tonight. I think I'll go watch Young Sheldon with the wife instead of wasting my time watching this team.......

And they pulled one out in OT and actually scored some goals it sounds like. Does an OT win count if nobody is watching or really cares?

I saw the game winner. Switched back from Football to Hockey at half time. It was early in the 2nd. I fell asleep and woke up in OT. Got some much needed rest and saw us win!
