We shouldn't feel obligated to select Zion Williamson.

This is usually where I tell tell him "shut the f*** up Donny", but he still doesn't know what movie it's from.

Why not?

I guess if you are prepared to move on from the KAT era in the next year or two, you could make the argument that you want to build around Zion instead. That will buy the team more time as team control of Zion will be longer than KAT. I'm more convinced that KAT is the guy to build around.

Why can't you build around both of them?

We should feel lucky to draft him.

I don't see it working out.

Why not?

Because I don't think Zion and KAT have compatible games, nor do I think their personalities are compatible. Throw Standrew Wiggins into the mix, and we have an even more toxic mixture.

I don't think you know any of that to be true.

I think I'm going to nominate this post for "least informed post" of the year.

Congrats.

1. The most unique and versatile defensive player in the draft is a bad fit next to KAT...
2. A guy that can handle, pass and score and is still borderline too unselfish is a bad fit next to KAT...
3. A guy who loves the game, is a great teammate and risked his health for the benefit of his team is a bad fit next to KAT...

Do I even need to go on?

I think you made Matt's point quite eloquently.

I respectfully disagree with both of you. We really have no idea what Zion is. We know what KAT is.

You might not know what Zion is because I doubt you've seen anything close to a full game of him playing, but (some) others of us here don't pull shit out of our butts and call it facts,

Why are you making it an either/or when they're a pretty perfect fit playing together?

No, Matt. We know exactly what Zion is. Unless he the product of the greatest conspiracy of ex-coaches, teammates and talent evaluators of all time.

I'd say draft Zion, trade KAT and package Standrew's contract with KAT. It's a great opportunity.

I don't claim to have much BB knowledge.

Yet I know that is a dumb idea.

Why take the best prospect since Anthony Davis (maybe since LeBron) so you can take a PG with amazing athleticism and passing, but struggles to shoot or defend?

I like Ja a lot and would be thrilled to take him if we get the 2nd pick (or the 3rd if some team stupidly takes Barrett), but he's a huge step down from Zion. In a normal draft, Ja is probably drafted ~5th.
