I just did my relocation for 2019. Stayed in the same section, but moved 3 rows closer and stayed on the aisle. No price increase. Yes!

I always love the aisle. Get a good workout standing up for all the people who hit the concession stands about a half dozen times minimal during a game.

So are the Twins offering any package where they assure ticket buyers that the food will be prepared in a rodent-free environment.

And Matt, did you ever look up on youtube Christmas Vacation regarding cholesterol levels in squirrels?

Will your new seats have a good view of that new living juniper wall in CF?

Sounds like 3 million

There is no other sport where you can be a journeyman, totally suck, and get paid by someone. The Twins

Let's be clear. The guy would have signed somewhere. and he probably would have gotten pretty close to that amount. Let's not act like there is only one team that would pay a journeyman reliever that. It's the current economics of the game.

Let's also be clear. Through last year, he has in no way sucked. His numbers did trend down last year even though they were still solid. His fastball velocity dropped by almost 2 full mph last year, down to 92. He is currently 33 years old. This has the look of another Addison Reed signing. We get him just in time for him to lose his stuff and get the shit knocked out of him on a regular basis.

Good analogy. The only difference is Reed was signed for two years of suck.

Looking like we will be at least 15mil below last years payroll when its all said and done.

BUT WAITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

This isn't all about saving Pohlad's money.

They have some extensions that they need to consider. Mostly Berrios.

I would be careful with Berrios long-term. He has proven to be extremely inconsistent and prone to extended periods of short or close-to-suck appearances.

I'd quit offering contracts to guys in their mid 30"s with declining velocity and offer more serious coin to a legitimate flame thrower.

Same thing was said about Kintzler after we picked him up after closing for the Brewers.....I like that he has closer experience, especially for the Angels. Hell I look at Cody Allen for the Indians and he may have been the least arm for Cleveland. I like that he has 3 pitches as they can use him as a closer or setup guy.

Kintzler was 30 when we got him and he was signed to a minor league deal. He wasn't expected to fill a significant role at the time. Last year at 33 years old, Kintzler declined to a 4.60 ERA. These are pitchers who are at an age where a lot of guys careers fall off a cliff.

I agree. Except that with the Twins organization, the players fall off a cliff as soon as they don a Twins uniform.

Actually, moving closer to the field takes away some of the eye candy that you get to see moving around so the end result is a negative.

Yes, but they can put him to work pruning the new living juniper wall.

And give him a broom to sweep up the concessions mess in the stands after each home game. He could become the highest paid janitor in MLB.

Yes

His whole postseason put his "game" on full display. Not a surprise teams have moved on.

More bad news for Yankees fans who want Machado coming shortly ...

Sounds like the White Sox announcement of 8 years/$250 million is going to be announced today.

And Manny will enjoy his paycheck through those lean years of White Sox being the Sux, and they normally do.

He'd better have a no trade clause or he wont be there long.

The White Flags decided to break ranks with the rest of MLB and offer stupid money to a free agent.

Collusion charges are probably coming.

Scott Boras isn't going to let that slide.

Chicago Tribune -

The White Sox’s pursuit of Manny Machado is guided in part by what might be called a Netflix strategy.

(No, this is not a reference to Netflix’s “Bird Box” and that stupid and dangerous meme in which people go around with their eyes covered.)

Today virtually everyone knows Netflix. But before that, Netflix went on a binge of signing pricey deals with big-name stars and content producers to win over consumers who might not have even known what a streaming service was.

The resulting programs were uneven, and Netflix continues to face criticism from those who believe it can ill afford to throw around as much money as it has.

From the beginning, however, what Netflix couldn’t afford was to be ignored.

That’s the 2019 White Sox for you.

There has been much talk that the Sox play for Machado may pay off.

In truth it already has.

That's quite a homer's take by the Chicago Tribune. The Netflix strategy is a proven failure in MLB. Even the Yankees had great cores before they would go on shopping sprees.

@SethTweets

Of the Free Agents that have signed to this point, there have only been three that I have been disappointed that the #MNTwins didn't get at the price the player got (and I always assume the cost for the Twins would be a bit more)... Charlie Morton, Joe Kelly, Adam Ottavino.
