Heck, free agency is before the draft.

I heard Roger Staffold and Ruben Foster are the top FA guards... for now.

Spielman needs to hit the phones hard either trade of FA G

We need to trim some fat too so we have the cabbage to pony up for one.

Get Saffold or

Maybe Gruden dumps the Guard we were after a couple of years ago.

1st two picks on OLine. Sign Easton to compete for a spot, hopefully a backup.

Lotta dead cap In there..

Treadwell is criminal negligence, and that is on Spielman
Over 5.8mill in dead cap hit to cut that POS

Wonder if we could trade sendejo for a 7th..?

$5.8 was if he was cut in 2018. $3.1 in 2019. Still bad - but less bad.

Cut: Rudolph, Remmers, Sendejo
Pay Cut: Griffen

Notable FAs:
Walk: Barr, Richardson, Murray
Try to Sign: Harris (RFA), Robinson, Bailey
Maybe Sign: Tom Johnson, Sherels, Easton, Jones

Among league leaders in minimal dead money; Treadwell stays unless they increase the dead money 5 times over by releasing him.

Cut: Rudolph, Remmers, Sendejo, Griffen

FA's
Must sign: A good Guard, a 3rd WR, a depth OL
Try to sign: Richardson (if he wants too much get T. Johnson), Harris, Bailey
Walk: Barr, Sherels, Jones, Murray, Easton (unless health problems are of little concern, then give him a lowball offer)

He was ineffective after returning from his meltdown.

He was the 64th in sacks with 5.5. 45th among DL. 36th among DE. He had no sacks against any of our good opponents. He's 31, slowing down and due a bunch of money, and it's anyone's guess how stable he'll be mentally going forward.

He has an 11.9 million dollar cap hit next year and only 1.2 in dead cap. I'd like to use the 10.7 mil on the O-Line. If he's willing to take a huge cut, I might consider it, but I'm thinking he wouldn't take as big of one as I'd want, so I'm willing to do the tough think here to improve OL.

Griff had 33 QB pressures..
ranked First in the entire NFL, even after missing a month
He and hunter are ESSENTIAL to what our defense does.

5,5 sacks in 11 games with 33 pressures in nothing to sneeze at.
As far as your ability to assessing a persons mental state..

I think the NFL and Vikings are “ Slightly “ more qualified than joe mmqb.

The reason I would cut Griffen if he doesn't take a pay cut is that that Weatherly looked really good and Bower will be back healthy plus you have Indenigbo back and Mustafaa back from injury too.

Yourself.

How do you attain the cap space necessary to sign who we need to sign to improve the team? Our currnet Cap space is down to 887,000 after people hit bonuses and escalators. We have some DE depth. Griff's best days are behind him and he is one of only a few players where significant savings can be attained. If we can find a trading partner, fine, but I doubt other teams will want to risk him at his cost.

Let’s just agree to disagree.. you better hope if the team can’t trade him and just cut him that he never faces our OL, or whoever is QB is gonna get fkd up badly.

What could the Vikings get for trading Waynes ? I like the idea that other teams might see value in him.

I would be excited for the addition by subtraction. Hill would offer smaller cushion, and would make more plays than Waynes.

Dead weight we. Can. Live without.

Since no one cares what about dead cap.. they represent a ton of useless players and money

Interesting:

Coller from 1500espn thinks the Vikes should spend on WR, TE and such over Oline. He states that Compton rated higher than the top FA Guards last year. He thinks signing Golden Tate or Fitz over a top Guard.

There must not have been much for FA Guards then.

It’s this dumb ass attitude that I simply don’t get?

Freaking PFF ratings mean very little to me when I’ve watched Compton get trucked all year long, and yet some still give them relevance?

Remmers closely resembles Compton’s play.. We are a steaming tire fire on the interior OL and you get Coller saying this. How does this guy have a job?

Interesting, as I had recommended both Tate earlier in the season, or trading for Fitz in the offseason, bring him home.

Either one would be a good move. Tate has the heart of champion, am he made a big catch while taking a shot for the Eagles yesterday, and it's possible that Seattle would have beaten Dallas had they still had Tate.

Actually signing Boone was a dumpster fire as was signing the expensive guys over Compton in 2018....the article even mentioned many of the draft picks being lesser than Compton.

Bring back Easton if healthy and draft another high pick lineman but don't spend all your FA on the next Boone and/or Draft pick resources on someone that may take long to develop and might not help the next two years.
