No, you haven't.

You likely have never seen that before. And definitely not from a guy Zion's size.

Its actually only 6'10, just seems like it because his vertical is ridiculous.

That’s an amazing video clip.

David - how does his size and athleticism compare to Lebron at the same age?

Its not a bad comp. Zion is about 40 pounds heavier than young LeBron, but similar height - but LeBron had a couple inches on him in wingspan. Physically he seems to be along the lines of LeBron or Auburn era Barkley.

Apparently he broke the Duke record for vertical leap:

That Zion video is incredible. It looks like he takes off about 4’ inside the 3point line and lands out of bounds.

I'm super intrigued by Sekou Doumbouya, who ESPN currently has at #10. There is some Giannis potential in this kid.

Is he next level? Ja Morant on his NBA scouting report

Zion who? Ja Morant, an AAU pal of Duke's Zion Williamson, has taken college hoops by storm with his viral dunks. But he's more than his highlights. Morant leads the Ohio Valley Conference in points per game (23.9) and the country in assists per game (10.2). His coach, Matt McMahon, said he noticed right away that the 6-foot-3 point guard was special.

But can a barely recruited kid from Murray State really dominate March and then make it at the next level? We asked an NBA scout to assess Morant ... then had Morant assess that assessment.

Next up for Morant: A big-time showdown with fellow Ohio Valley front-runner Austin Peay on Thursday night (9 p.m. ET on ESPN2).

The Scout

"Morant has great explosiveness and athleticism -- I can see why he's compared to Russell Westbrook (*1). He has a thin frame, but he'll easily bulk up. I like his aggressiveness and attacking mentality. He really finishes at the rim and uses all dribbles to gain an advantage (*2). He sees the floor very well, has a great handle and he's unselfish (*3). His 3-point shooting [33 percent] is not a red flag; I don't see anything wrong with his form, and that's one of the easiest skills to improve in the NBA (*4). On defense, he's often not in a stance and flat-footed. He's got great hands and causes deflections, but that's not enough for the next level. He should be better on defense with his physical skills (*5). Morant is a definite top-10 pick, and he could be top-three."

Morant

*1. "Westbrook is my favorite player and who I try to model my game after -- the aggressiveness, the chip on his shoulder. That's how I play, just from being under the radar and really trying to work hard to get to where I'm at."

*2. "I try not to take a lot of dribbles. I look to attack almost on every dribble, just reading the defender's body and looking to get to my spot on the floor."

*3. "I really love sharing the ball. Just to see my teammates succeed. If there's any time I can [help teammates succeed], I will. I look to pass the ball before I look to score."

*4. "I feel like I'm a good shooter. But sometimes in a game, when I settle, that's when I miss a shot instead of just playing in rhythm. Most of the shots I miss are forced."

*5. "Some of my defensive mistakes are because of fatigue from playing a lot of minutes. I have to get more locked in and get some breaks on the offensive end to catch my breath."

I hear the next player he defends will be the first player he defends.

Coby White was brought up at Canis today. Wasn't real familiar with him, but I'm intrigued.

6'5 PG, so he could play some next to Tyus or Teague (since he's going to be here next year). 38% 3pt shooter on 6/game and a good FT shooter. Appears to be a decent, if unspectacular passer. Good defender despite suboptimal length.

Maybe a Malcolm Brogdon type?

I still love Sekou Doumbouya if we don't move up, but White could be a good target if we trade down.

Teammate Cameron Johnson... 6'9"... 52/48/79.

Brogdon just seemed much more aware and in control than White is, although some of that is watching Brogdon as a senior whereas of course White is a frosh.

I think Johnson has a chance to be a 2nd round steal.

I do wish White had Brogdon's length.

Pete forgive me if I missed it, but please give me your breakdown of Zion, and what is his best situation he could be drafted in to?

Thanks bro in advance. I got the first few rounds in LA against the Chargers this year when you come out. 😉

Zion Williamson has a spectacular shoe blowout.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzFTGisNVXM

Zion is injured on the play Duke gets demolished after he leaves.
This is going to cost Nike I'm guessing in the 100s of millions in sales/reputation.

Men's college BB and FB are massive scams; makes it hard to watch.....

That would be a steal, but he will go in the first round except... I don't know how 5th year players are assessed.

No it won't.

People like you said that after Nike ran the Kaepernick ad. Sales went UP!

Man, it's so difficult to be critical of his game. He reminds me so much of LeBron, even similarities on the things he doesn't do exceptionally well. If I have to nitpick, just like young LeBron, he relies too much on his size and athleticism on his perimeter shot. Often times drifting and fading. That's an easy fix I think.

There's a delicate balance that his future NBA coach has to navigate. Size and extreme athleticism is a great combination. Size, athleticism, vision, patience, discipline and willingness to be a complete player is the ultimate.

I think he's going to be crazy successful no matter where he lands, providing he has a coach that is more interested in what he could be, as opposed to what he already is.

If I have to dig deep for a concern, it would be his weight. Since his HS freshman year, his weight has yo-yo'd quite a bit.

The Stepien has a lengthy piece on the other Duke freshmen:

This is over a quarter of Reddish’s games and basically every good defense he’s played has managed to turn him over: Texas Tech, Virginia tech, Virginia, UNC and Gonzaga. I don’t even want to show you the per 40 numbers over these 8 games.

Reddish’s awareness and offensive decision-making in the run of play are generally somewhere between negative and awful. People say he’s unassertive, but he’s got a 26 percent usage and he shoots or turns the ball over on 28 out of every 100 possessions he plays. Reddish doesn’t have problem with assertiveness. Reddish has a severe problem with not knowing when or how to assert himself.
