I wouldn't put Stroman in that group either, but he definitely would have helped (his start with the Mets aside). You could even make the case that he would be ahead of Berrios, since he has pitched his whole career in a hitters' ballpark. Like I said, I would have spent some of our shiny coins, as you call them, on the first two, but not on Stroman. I sure as hell would have beaten the Mets offer for Stroman though.
Downside on Stroman that I alluded to a bit back, is that he's a groundball pitcher and we have suspect infield defense. Not sure how much he would have helped. That being said, he'd've been better than Martin Perez...
