Love Soucy flattening the dumbass who flew into him
Careful what you ask for skippy.
You came looking

The look on his face when he "hit" Soucy was priceless. He (Soucy) is bigger, stronger and has his foot braced on the boards. When you go flying in like that and a guy sees it coming it's going to be murder.

That dumbass ran in to, literally, a wall. Only fun moment of the whole broadcast.

Dubnyk throws his hat in to that argument. Guy is awful. A couple weren't his fault but the first:

He's 6-6 and gets so far out of position chasing a guy that has no chance of scoring from that angle that he has about 6 inches of the net that he's not BEHIND. Granted, Parise and (I think) Brodin didn't cover themselves in glory covering the front of the net but that pass should have never been in the crease for Malkin to slam home.

His stick angles from shots coming from the dots is giving guys an on ramp to put it right in to the corners. Flatten it out dude. Pee-wee goalies learn that one.

His puck handling behind the net remains atrocious. I don't even need to get in to it.

Look, I feel for the guy with his situation but BB needs to do them both a favor. Shut him down for the year. He was already prone to the 2 or 3 eye rollers nightly. Now his whole game is that way.

2 last things and I'll separate them so they're easier to tear apart

It comes as no shock, I'm sure, but we are slow as hell and have no natural scorers. If I were the GM I would jettison everyone I could and start over. There are a couple guys worth holding on offense (Faligno and JEE come to mind). I don't care if they have NTC's. If they had any pride they would agree to cancel them. We all know who I'm talking about.

I was super geeked about the BB hiring. Thought it was amazing get. I was dead wrong. He makes terrible decisions and our team play sucks. PP sucks, offense is still crap, get so far out of position we are easy to counter on (witness tonight). I thought he as a great coach but I'm thoroughly convinced he was just surrounded by great teams.

Just look at our spacing when we enter the zone. 1 defensemen has 3 guys covered well. When they counter we have chickens looking for heads. It's just f'ing embarrassing and that can be coached.

Took a crap ton of shots

I don't think I've ever quoted myself but this one made me LMAO. The female "Pierre" (sorry, tried looking her up but the NBC website sucks) made the pregame comment "Dumba is known as a high scoring guy and the good news guys, he shooting a lot, should help".

I've come to the same conclusion, and making a line-up mistake like he did last night is a pretty low point. I had high hopes when he was hired, but here we are ...

Our STINK has rubbed off on BB, imo.
That was a rookie coaching mistake, Bruce. Come on.

I think it's a bit of both. On the one hand, I think BB was a bit overrated. On the other hand, when he got here, I think they stuck a funnel down his throat and started the Kool-Aid by the gallon until he acquired a taste for it.

Last night demonstrated just how far the Wild are from the NHL elite.

No way the Wild come even close to the Blues turn around last season.

As Coach Dale said in Hoosiers (paraphrasing), I am going to break them down and build them back up.

We probably need to blow up this team.

The NBC crew took em to task, big time.
Before, during, and after.
Guerin was in the house, getting love from the Pens faithful.
We shall see if he too, was embarrassed.
Was actually fun to hear outside experts finally de-robe the emperors on the team.
Talked about lack of speed, lack of scorers, lack of heart.
I'll say it again, Spurgeon and Fiala looked usable in the NHL.
The rest, eh …. maybe Foligno, Greenway, Soucy. The rest flailed around like beer leaguers thrown into an NHL game.

For some reason the Wild have Tampa's number. At least they didn't get embarrassed on national TV 2 games in row.......

It's weird. I was there for the last one and we did/do. It's like Dallas to us. Something about the matchups. I went with 2 coworkers (who never played but are total nuts about the "ning". They were amazed at the way we controlled them. They hadn't seen it.

What a perfect way to end Hockey Day Minnesota. Opening up a can of whoop-ass on Dallas!
Sure is amazing how we look like a completely different team with Koivu and Duby not in the line up.
I know it won't happen, but I say stick with last nights lineup until they falter.
At the very least keep Stalock in goal until he needs a rest.

Such an enjoyable game to watch. Sigh. It's good to be reminded now and then what that feels like.

The boys play Damn Hard in front of Stalock
Walz the first FSN mouth to actually admit it.
The things that screw us up now are Koivu and Dubnyk.
Sorry. It’s true.

We were chasing the whole game and finally get a lead, but can't keep it. And then to give up the winning goal with 5 seconds left sure sucked.....

Yep - that last second goal was a gut kicker. When we finally went UP a goal it was a relief to know that the Panthers would have to score two to win. At the time that didn't seem likely.

But ...
