Hey! We get to play again this week!

Think its the Father/Son trip?
I like those, they usually mean the boys will play hard.

Yeah, but it's a west coast trip so the games start so late I rarely watch them.
Between the extra jump for the dad's and the fact that I won't be watching means they should do pretty good on the next couple of games. They always seem to save their best for when I'm not watching.....

Got two the hard way last night
Galchenyuk comes thru big time.
With the game tie-er late and the game winner in the shootout!

Fiala stays on fire
Staal is out of gas
Dubnyks goals he allowed were terrible again
His reactions after giving them up are worse
Stares at the rafters or buries his head in the ice
Act like ya have played before.
He FINALLY just stayed big in the net in the S.O.
JUST STAY BIG. That's your strength. And by golly, they couldn't get the puck past him.
Beautiful move by Galchenyuk for the winner, and it was LEGAL.
Big two points, but so many of the others we're chasing got 2 as well.
Frustrating place we put ourselves in every year.

Galchenyuk may actually prove to be a piece that sticks from the trade. I always thought it was more about the pick and the prospect.

I'm just calling him Yucker from now on
Fun as hell to see him score a couple big ones
He's had a rough go of it, never got comfy in Pittsburgh, and took some nasty shit from his peers during this last trade
Great to see a guy who has worked hard his whole life have some fun and some relief.
The type of guy who probably sees the end and is hanging on for dear life to a great life he now knows won't last forever.
Zuccarello was really good again last night.
Dumba has been playing pretty well, but his first period gaffe was brutal again, and let them tie the game.
He gives up a lot of goals, and isn't scoring nearly enough to make up for it.

The trade was definitely more about the prospect and the pick. Those are the commodities Guerin wanted. Getting 31 games to evaluate Galchenyuk is a bonus. Classic low risk acquisition. Worst case they let him walk and free cap space. Best case, he looks like a top 6 forward. He was an elite prospect a few years ago, who never did more than tease. At 26, he is pretty well at the do or die stage of his career.

Great to see Foligno's Dad enjoying the game.
Dude was a helluva player
Dude has two really good sons in the NHL at the same time.
Life is good for them.

I really enjoy the father travel games, probably because I'm a parent myself. I can so easily relate to what it must feel like to be on the plane and travel with the team that your child plays on as a professional athlete, and just soak up the atmosphere with other parents. Sharing that moment in time with your child - totally awesome. And I like to see all of the dads sitting together with that common bond between them. Some were dads, some were uncles, I heard that Fiala's was a grandpa - - - all people who played a part in that player's life.

Has to be INCREDIBLE for them all
Another thing hockey gets right, over most every other sport.
GOOD people. Still.

I bet it brings back the memories of what was my favorite part of being a hockey kid. The out of town tourneys. You have to stay in a hotel with your buddies and all the dads were there. Those are some of the best memories I have for a game that gave me thousands of good ones.

I would imagine it brings that back for those guys too (players and their dads). I can't wait to force my kids to play sports so I can relive it

Yeah, that was Michael Rand. Sadly I got the first comment in and said "Looks like the Kool-Aid Man paid somebody a visit". The very next comment was a very sheople like maybe the defensemen could start doing there jobs in front of Dubs.

I replied that we would indeed be better off if we didn't have to rely on Dubs to make a save.

I remember when Dubes was mad about Defenseman getting in the way, I also remember when Dubes and staff said defenseman could do more in front of the net.....the problem isn't the Defenseman doing more at a point---other teams would gladly take Spurgeon, Brodin, and others off of our hands......which leads to our goaltender not being good enough.

Another Big Un tonight
Against The Oil
Much needed points

Couple FSN gripes …
STOP whining about "games in hand" … I looked. Not true. Everyones pretty much the same, LaPanter.
And the next time Walz waxes on and on about making sure Koivu is in there for face-offs, I may explode
He even looked it up in-game ...and Koivu was like 2 for 10, while Ek was 9 for 13
And the yingyang STILL said "gotta have Mikko in there for late face-offs"
How bout Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

We have more success when Mikko gets kicked out of the face-off circle.

That's something I've noticed. Mikko's win percentage went through the floor when he stopped getting tossed so often. In other words he won face-offs by cheating and not getting caught.

Draisaitl has 95 point for the Oilers
Our top guy has 41.

I've been told it's apples to oranges. What I've gathered is that:

A. apples can score goals.
B. oranges can't.
