What if a couple of guys like Parise and Suter simply agreed to redo their contracts to a more team-friendly set of numbers? I think both want to stay here, and I see it done in other sports. Why not here? With those two?

College hockey about to follow along as well.

So North Dakota officially wins another title.
(if you ask them)

20. Minnesota Wild
Previous ranking: 19
Standings point pace: 92
In Nashville, Kevin Fiala was always a vaunted prospect who had yet to pan out. A trade to Minnesota clearly revived him. He has been a big part of the Wild's resurgence, with 14 goals in his past 18 games.

Not sure I've ever seen a team go 7-3-1 and drop a place, but …..

hardest part of this is watching the other teams we are lumped with …. keep winning nightly
Jets took it to the Oil last night
We've now had 4 off nights to watch others retake us.
Oh, and somehow,, that "games in hand" bullshit that LaPanta always brings up?
As invisible now as it was all year when he was bragging about it.
And another thing …
Parise's rebirth ….. not really cool, right? I mean, is he now mad, or motivated, or what? And why now? Hmmm.
I think those questions answer themselves.

Somehow I think Guerin finds a way to move Parise this summer. His improved play of late is his audition for contending teams.
If we can rid ourselves of his contract we can live Suter's. Despite my bitching about Suter, he is still a top d-man and will be for at least a few more years the way he plays.

Agreed ST.

Maybe the best ending possible for the Wild, eh?
Felt like we were a work in process, anyway.
Might as well build on what we were doing and restart at some point down the road.
Wasn't like we were going to do anything but get hopes up, only to dash them.
Here's to 2021.
Our first Stanley Cup!

I'm starting to have my doubts about Fiala now. He hasn't scored since the shut down.

I sense a metaphor at play here.

My wife has always given me grief about her boy "Zachie" whenever Parise has been on the TV thing … "He's so gosh darned cute"
So I'm watching Fiala's Becoming Wild segment the other day, and she stood there quite awhile like
She's found a new cutie.

KFAN supposedly filling space where they’d be doing Wild games with

“Classic Wild games”

Do those truly exist?

No, there are not
Unless you're talking the playoff run to the Finals, now those were fun

The one truly great thing about the season ending?
I think it happened before the "Paul Allen" experiment, didn't it?

If there is one thing that could turn me off of hockey, it might be that
Him covering a game would actually GIVE me the coronavirus

Hey, SoMn, I think I'm starting to have some anxiety without being able to watch the Hawks skate up and down the ice. Bad hockey is better than no hockey! And, to make things worse, I'm stuck at home! How can a social worker do his job without being "social"? It doesn't make sense!

FSN had a replay of Mikko's 1000 game the other night. I didn't watch but I did see it listed.....
