Great win. Except for all the turnovers could've easily gone the other way or certainly been much closer IMO.

Zim in his presser inexplicably calling Hughe's play as anything other than terrible ,notwithstanding that last min. interception, is a real

Did anyone notice the obnoxiously loud PA announcer ranting & raving throughout the game? Sure thought that stuff was not allowed.

Cook's reaction to his injury was scary. I was sure it was a dislocation of some sort. He's a tough little guy so hope he's okay.

My $0.02:

Winning in the NFL is tough - especially on the road. I'll take it!!

Loved the irony of Rivers jawing with Hitman after their ONLY TD....we then scored the next 30 point - many after LAC turnovers.

LAC sold out to stop the run. We were able to go to Plan B and pull off the win.

OL played well against a good defense...on the road.

ST played a great game.

HHill will be a good DB. Waynes is solid.

Tackling was much better than it has been.

Hughes struggled a bit, but their WR are big and make plays.

7 turnovers?!?!?!

We are as good as any team in the NFL. DAL? GB? LAR? SF? SEA?.....

Was nice that we knocked CHI out of the playoffs, although I was hoping they would bet the Puke.

My hunch is Cook will be fine.

Good list!

We had struggled vs. the run recently up until this game and I was worried about Gordon/Eckler having big days. I think the fumbles slowed them down obviously....or they were having too much success passing to try and run, but we were much better this week. I think a big offseason need, outside of G and CB, is a space eating DT. We don’t get a lot of push up the middle and other teams have success running it up the gut.

Our defenses inability to get off the field on 3rd down seems to get worse with each passing game.

IMO it all started when our cb's got burned constantly looking for the ball in the nfccg.
Appears that since then they don't look for the ball period.

Zim needs to back and watch tape of what we were doing in 2017 that got us off the field on 3rd down at a record clip.

I think Waynes and Hill should be are starting outside cb's.

What has happened to Alexander? Both he and Hughes are playing like Rhodes.

Seems like miscommunication or something going on back there.

Thankfully LAC were a complete turnover machine.

Yesterday's snap counts for outside CB:

Rhodes, 14 snaps, 23% of total
Waynes, 27, 44%
Hughes, 46, 74%
Hill, 31, 50%
Boyd, 7, 11%

Much better allocation of snaps than a couple weeks back

I was surprised that Waynes was out as much as he was. I’d be curious to see what the snaps were when the game was still in question. I really think that Waynes is our best cover guy and he is a great tackler.

The old Rhodes isn't coming back and we had a prime Griffen and DTs that could rush the passer.

My point is that it appears Zim is now coaching the cb's to focus on the wr and not look for the ball.

I refuse to believe at 29 years old Rhodes has fallen off a cliff. Since the nfccg he isn't coaching the cb's the same. Because their all terrible.

Eric Kendricks is a sneaky DPOY candidate
Vikings edge rusher Danielle Hunter is getting all the ink this year because of the sack total, but I’m not sure he’s even the strongest candidate on his own defense. Linebacker Kendricks has been putting together a career year and has a sneaky strong case for defensive player of the year. Kendricks added to his already-absurd pass breakup tally against the Chargers, and though he doesn’t have the interceptions, he has been one of the best coverage linebackers in football this season. Kenricks has always been known as a quality coverage player, but this season he has had a significant jump in PFF grade and is putting together some rare numbers.

I disagree... a healthy Rhodes transformed this defense.
He would basically eliminate the best WR on the opponent.
Looking back there aren't that many changes to defense since that record setting 2017 team.

In 2017 Playoffs:
The Saints were held to 0 until a cheap shot pick on Rhodes... immediately after that they scored and their offense took over.
Rhodes regained himself to a degree and in crunch time shut Michael Thomas down on 3 straight throws from Brees... only to have Mac give up the 4th and 10 which put them in FG range.

No explanation for Eagles... entire team fell apart. Emotional letdown?

Since then:
Rhodes fell off a cliff
Linval hasn't been able to get back to his dominant self
No one has been able to replace Tom Johnson's interior rush.
Maybe Terrance Newman as the 3rd corner was another key piece.

But when collectively all your cb' stink it points to a coaching philosophy.

That old quote from our youth …. "agile, mobile, hostile ………." always pops in my head when I see Kendricks chasing down a ball carrier or tracking a receiver. Love that relentlessness he shows.

Kendricks was awesome yesterday.
Turnover and tackling FORCE!
Great all season, but yesterday he stood out at another level.

Biggest key is go into the playoffs healthy....we weren't healthy in 2017....Barr, Kendricks, Hitman, Rhodes, and Waynes were all banged up.

Playoff seeding odds for the #Vikings after Week 15 according to
@fboutsiders
:

6 seed - 57.6%
5 seed - 22.5%
3 seed - 13%
2 seed - 5.1%
1 seed - 0%

(They currently have Minnesota with a 98.2% chance to make the playoffs)

(Adam Patrick on Twitter)

The third or second seed require that the Vikings win out and the Packers lose out. Not going to happen. (Sorry) I'm not clear about how they can make the fifth seed, though. Would the Niners have to lose twice? Who owns the tie breaker between the Niners and the Vikings?

We are 21st in the number of opposing converted third downs per game.

3rd (best) at home.
31st on the road.

I'm more concerned with us giving up 3rd and 7 or longer almost as easy as if it was a qb sneak. If we can clean some of that up I think we will be a tough out.

Our CB's look confused and unsure of their responsibilities in certain coverages.

Zim needs to simplify the schemes and just let them play football.

Cook says he's ok and could play against the Pack.

I say sit him. In the last 4 games he's averaged only 36 y/g at 3.1 y/c.

Better off giving him some rest and let him heal up so he's 100% for the playoffs.

This year Eric Kendricks...

• Broke PFF's record for most single-season pass breakups by a LB
• Has allowed the lowest completion % of any LB
• Has the 5th-most run stops by any player
• Ranks 3rd in pass rush productivity among LBs
• Is the highest-graded LB in football https://twitter.com/PFF/status/1206619159410413568

knew I should have bought his jersey instead of Barr's

Zimmer in his monday presser said Rhodes only playing 14 snaps was not injury related.
