Oakland revenge
Up 17-2
Fifth inning

That has to be a ML record for flip flop routes between opponents in back to back games.

Yankees with 5 homers tonight. Twins only one. Winning is most important, but it sure would be cool to set the all time homer record.

I wanted it to happen, but the Yanks will get it.

Detroit with a walk off 12-11 win over the Yankees. I know they aren't relevant to us, but I hate them.

Jim Souhan

@SouhanStrib

I understand sentiments regarding Buxton, but if he didn't play as hard or run as fast, then he wouldn't be Buxton and you wouldn't care whether he was hurt. Molitor couldn't stay healthy when young, either. He didn't change style of play. Just matured physically, got luckier

Probably the most ive ever agreed with Souhan

Berrios found himself, not sure if both hands were necessary or not. Fred was a hero again. A much needed win. Next 2 games are much less likely, on paper, if played, so this one was big.

Yankees hit six HR in the loss to Detroit. They will pass the Twins in HR in a couple games.

Funny, because I have the exact opposite reaction. I’m sick of this “You can’t change Buxton. It’s what makes him great” take.

It’s bullshit.

So we just have to live with Buxton routinely missing 80-100 games a season or more? To hear all this Buxton mythology you’d think he’s the first speedy athletically gifted guy to ever play center field. He’s not. The other great ones just learned to be smarter and be aggressive without killing themselves.

This last Buxton injury was just a boneheaded play. A needless risk. Why are we so afraid to say that? Can’t take that away from him? They certainly can. And they must.

The main thing that Buxton will have to remember out of all this; it is costing him money by being hurt and he can't get his feet set and play a full season. Hard to become a superstar when always hurt.

AWESOME win
Felt like the good old days
Feel like I say this about a ton of guys …
But Fred Garvin has had one HELLUVA year.
Love the guy. You don't have special years without that type of player.

Berrios was BACK, baby. Loved it

Garvin is an example of a guy that should have been up at 25 years old that TR/Gardy wouldn't play. Now he has blossomed at 28.....

Same feelings here
Its why I love his game
The explosiveness
Every team needs that and we definitely fed off of it
Unfortunately it also costs you at times.
I'm in the camp that it'll work itself out. He'll somehow figure out how to stay on the field. Has to kill him to miss these fun days.

Classy interviews by Brian Dozier, another GOOD MAN
Pulling hard for his old mates.
Says he saw the talent coming and couldn't wait until they all blossomed.
He carried this franchise alone for a long time. Was a great soldier. I miss him but love what we have become this year without him.
Schoop had a really solid night last night and a couple good weeks again.

They (Rocco/Twins FO) play their favorites sometimes, granted Adrianza seemed like a Punto type for a while but he has proven himself worthy. I remember Garvin coming up after injuries and Gardy wouldn't let him catch as he couldn't handle a pitcher as good back then. He had to see the same power back then as he has always been able to hit. As a slappy infielder....it just stands out how jealous Gardy is of anybody that hit that plays an infield spot so much that he always pushes the defense side.

Garver
Polanco
Hardy
Castillo
Mourneau
Harris
Bartlett
Cuddyear

I don't want to mention the non pitch to contact guys: Lohse & Garza

If Gardy was still here he’d be playing Castro, citing his amazing pitch framing abilities.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Castro, he should be a starting catcher for about half the teams in baseball. But not here.

We're looking at temps in the mid-90s next week, and likely tornado threats. Hmmmmmm. What's going on?
