He is not a defensive player. He is an offensive player that likes to attack the rim. He's also busy working on his 3-point shot.

Too bad he can't dribble.

He's actually a much more capable defender than offensive player, he just can't be bothered to stay engaged in the game.

Its like buying your son a sweet full set of sockets and wrenches, and all he will ever use is the damn adjustable crescent wrench and the cheap pliers.

Possibly.

Something about …. "frustration" perhaps?

You should have just given him the bong he wanted.

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas announced the team has signed guards Tyus Battle and Barry Brown Jr. In a related transaction, Rosas also today announced the team has waived forward Jordan Murphy and guard Lindell Wigginton. With the moves the Wolves’ roster stands at 20 players.

Battle, 21, played for the Timberwolves in the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 3.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 10.8 minutes in six games. Battle averaged 16.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists over three seasons at Syracuse University. The 6-6 guard was named to the 2018-19 All-ACC Third Team and the 2017-18 All-ACC Second Team. As a sophomore and junior, Battle was a finalist for the Jerry West Award given to the nation’s best shooting guard. He led the nation and set a Syracuse record for minutes in 2017-18 by averaging 39.0 minutes per game.

Brown, 22, played in seven games for the Timberwolves in the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 16.6 minutes. The 6-3 guard played four seasons at Kansas State, averaging 12.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 32.2 minutes per game. Brown finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in games played (139) and steals (254), and second in minutes played (4472). Brown was selected to the 2018-19 All-Big 12 First Team and Big 12 All-Defensive Team and was a semifinalist for the Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year.

Murphy, 22, signed with the Wolves on September 16.

Wigginton, 21, signed with the Wolves on September 4.

I can't express how good that was!

And here I was ready to tell SMF he had a good line. Always keep reading.

Gleeman predicts 35 wins for the Wolves. Way to go out on a limb!

I will go out on a limb. I'll say 22 wins. This run-and-gun style of play is not gonna work in Year 1 with this personnel. The West has so many teams that are better than the Wolves...I think they will only win those few games they "should" win vs doormat opponents. Beyond that, they will have a hot night once in a while and score 5-8 upsets against superior teams. They will of course lose a few games they could/should have won as well. KAT will not be happy and that will also affect the team's performance late in the season. The rest of the players are simply not very good.

Is anyone else ready to predict how many wins the Wolves will have this season?

I get that 40 posts and 2 pages of relative inactivity is tough to get through...

My prediction is that KAT's play elevates an 18 win team to 30 wins, and then the national media calls him out for not making the Playoffs.

So can I take that to mean you might not be surprised if we actually finish with 22 wins? And if so, does that mean KAT grumbled his way thru the season?

No. It means KAT got injured and missed a chunk of games.

We'll see. I don't think he'll have a significant injury, but you never know. I am predicting 22 wins with a mostly healthy, but slightly disgruntled KAT. You are more bullish on this team than I am. We'll probably have a pretty good idea by Christmas.

30 wins is totally bullish!

I mean that would've totally snared them the coveted 14th seed in the West last year.

If KAT gets injured, look out below. This team goes into a death spiral. There is no plan B without him. Heck there’s barely a plan A with him.

It will make the Rambis days look like the golden era of Wolves basketball.

I hope you are trying to reverse jinx the Wolves with this ridiculous prediction. Last year we were a winning team when Teague played so I'm going with 82-0.

Nice win over a solid Indiana team on the road. KAT was phenomenal and RoCo was his equal. Well not quite, but almost.
