donald penn is available as a right tackle...is he worth picking up cheap and moving o'neil the left side?....

If he is worthy, it would show us how patience can go a long way. I know he used to play here and he played at a high level for the Raiders. I'm not clear how much he still has.

He is 36(37 in April).
It would be a gamble.

5. Falcons $14.28M
6. Packers $14.80M

Don't know what some of those Chiefs contracts look like, but when Mahommes re-ups $555K is going to be -$39.45M.

I think he's signed his tag - no idea what his cap hit is maybe 14M, but I'm guessing its factored.

Majomes?

Is Majomes black?

WTF does that mean?

#1 Did Majomes sign a "tag", he is only starting his 4th season on a 5 year rookie contract, so how could he be tagged?

#2 While reading wikipedia on Majomes to verify some things, they said he was "one of the only blacks" to do this and that. I wasn't aware that he was black, I would have never guessed it. But yeah, digging a little deeper, I see his dad is black.

And no. He wil not be filling the Diggs void (or #2 position)

Sounds like a new face to add to the backup mix.

My first reaction when I looked at the FA list this morning was please not him and it it's him please let it be vet minimum only with no guaranteed money.

Found this blurb from Rappoport on RotoWorld

Vikings signed WR Tajae Sharpe, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year contract.
Sharpe gives the Vikings a potential starting option opposite Adam Thielen on what is a thin depth chart at the position. The former fifth-rounder turns 26 later this year. Once a starter for the Titans after a strong rookie camp, Sharpe became more of a role player in Tennessee last year after the emergence of A.J. Brown and signing of Adam Humphries. Sharpe has good size at 6'2/194 and has a career 92-1,167-8 line across 47 games (29 starts). Look for Minnesota to address wideout in the draft.

He will be the #2 receiver to begin training camp, but not at the end of training camp. Maybe he will be our third receiver for the regular season. Maybe. I mean, he is better than Treadwell.

Another reason I don't like this signing is it may prevent us from drafting a 2nd WR from this superb class or WRs.

I"m not much of a Bisi Johnson fan, but I think Bisi is better and he knows the system already.

There is absolutely no chance this guy effects the first 5 or 6 rounds of the draft, if at all.

If nothing else, it combs down the wild hair that Spielman might have for a late round WR.

God I hope not... but have to admit I thought the same thing.

DO NOT let a journeyman lead you to missing out on some great WR prospects!

Remember how little the Titans pass.....he is also only a depth signing. Probably just a little above minimum. Way better WR than Treadwell.

Considering how long it took to get a good #1-2 WR punch after Moss, I was not happy with trading Diggs.

But I still believe that a passing game is about 80-20 [QB/WR], it may not be as big of deal as it initially feels.

If it's a WR rich draft, hopefully the Vikings get a great 1 in the 1st or 2nd round. I have some faith in the posters on this site to point in the right direction, mostly based on the almost unanimous approval of Hopkins, the year the Vikings drafted Patterson.

If he's vet minimum with less than 100K guaranteed money I don't hate it. Anything other than that I do hate it.

What if Johnson, or perhaps more likely Thielen gets hurt. The team needs to have bodies in camp. He's been around for awhile, so he might be able to step in. I wouldn't overreact to this signing.

Overreact? We have been staring into the abyss and the abyss has been staring back into us.

When a WR body pops out, you pay attention .. even a camp body WR.
