A lot of talk about getting a T. If we can upgrade Reiff I'm interested, but don't we really need to upgrade G more? Reiff was servicable. I'm interested in sending him and our late 3rd or 4th to Wash for their T, but wondering about spending our 1st on a T. If you do that are you counting on Reiff to move to G? How likely is that to work well?

Anyone?

All SF got for the trade was a 4th round pick.
Bucs traded up with the 49ers to select Iowa RT Tristan Wirfs with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Bucs moved up one spot, sending the Nos. 14 and 117 picks for 13 and 245. The first true freshman to start at tackle in coach Kirk Ferentz’s 20-year Iowa tenure, Wirfs' (6’5/320) salivating strength (450-lb power clean) and ceiling stem from his background as a renowned wrestler and two-time state champion shot putter at Mount Vernon High. While the 21-year-old did log a majority of his snaps at the collegiate level at right tackle, his skillset is considered interchangeable. Wirfs took home the Rimington-Pace award for Big 10's Offensive Lineman of the Year as a true junior, permitting respectable marks in sacks (2) and quarterback hits (5) in his final two seasons due in part to his strong foundation and quick feet. He was rarely caught off-balance in pass-pro, standing tall and doling body blows with power rushers all the while showcasing the slide to cope with EDGE bodies rounding from the outside. A disciplined mauler who compiled just three penalties in his final year with the Hawkeyes, Wirfs will protect Tom Brady from the right tackle spot opposite LT Donovan Smith.

Need Guard way more. Reiff won't be on team. Collins and draft/samia will be our guards.

I would give a 2nd to Thuney.

College: Oklahoma

COMBINE 2020
COMBINE
STATS:
Broad Jump
124.0 inches
40 Yard Dash
4.5 Secs
Bench Press
11.0 reps
Vertical Jump
34.5 inches
STRENGTHS
Big-play talent on all three levels of the field. Havoc-wreaker with the ball in his hands. Averaged 21.4 yards per catch in 2019 as primary target. Changes route tempo and speeds to rock coverage to sleep. Glider who separates on all forms of crossing routes. Able to gather and open suddenly on back shoulders and comebacks. Awareness in working back to throws. Hand catches with good arm extension. Bouncy hops for jump balls. Makes late body adjustments to secure difficult deep catches. Slippery open-field runner with excellent vision. Has deceptive strength to shake free from arm tackles. Offers an instant upgrade as punt returner.

WEAKNESSES
Slender build for consideration as a primary target. Frequently unchallenged by cornerbacks he played. Needs faster, more efficient press release against pro corners. Must learn intricacies of uncovering underneath. Routes need to be more focused and purposeful. Wasted motion and steps setting up his breaks. Could struggle with adjustment to combat catches. Scheme created feasts in wide-open spaces. Can do a better job as stalk-blocker.

I don't want a trade up. We've got OT covered with Udoh and Oneil

Sure we do. What do you have to smoke or drink over there.

I honestly am good going into the year with ONeil, Udoh, Collins and Hill. Completely sober.

I agree that OT is not one of our bigger needs.

i'll bite...I kind of feel the same way about LT v LG

All the talk about trading for Williams, I was thinking we should trade for Thuney who is only 27 and Williams is 32...makes no sense to give a contract to Williams we can't afford

but Thuney is entering his prime and compliments our current line...can we get him a decent contract?

Thuney would get us better at our weakest spot on the ol.

I think it would be terrible to trade up for a WR.

No one I would trade up for left. Trade back.

Lamb averaged 21 yards per catch. He is worth trading up for.

Geez, I’ve been a big proponent of the Vikes waiting until the 2nd to draft a WR, but with Lamb dropping I’m hoping Trader Rick makes a move up a bit to get him. If he falls to the Raiders he should pull the trigger.

Leiber says that's good for the Vikings. He absolutely hates Terrell.
