Offensive 20+ Yard Plays, 2019:

Vikings = 68
Chiefs = 69

The Vikings allowed just 4 rushes of 20+ yards in 2019.

This ranked #1 in the NFL.

Hard to argue with any of that. AD had an inside track until his issues arose and he stayed too long.....Cris Carter, but can't have him and Moss. Yary?

I may be too nostalgic, but I would like Bill Brown up there.

Yary to me is kind of Tier II along with Eller, Peterson, CC, Randle, etc.

Tom Johnson gets half million settlement from Minneapolis for roughing him up during arrest.

Was reading up on this a little. Found this amusing:

McCarver sprayed Johnson with his chemical irritant, accidentally coating his partner, who retreated to the bar to flush out his eyes

Some ammunition for Cook to get a big payday. McCaffrey just signed his extension for $16 million a year. I found this on RotoWorld.

CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY
RB, CAROLINA PANTHERS

Panthers signed RB Christian McCaffrey to a four-year contract extension through 2024.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal is worth $16 million per year, making McCaffrey the highest-paid running back in NFL history. It was an inauspicious time for CMC's contract to come due after a recent spate of running back deal mega-busts, but McCaffrey is no ordinary runner, and he is still two months shy of his 24th birthday. He has also never missed a game with injury. That combination of youth, durability and unique skill-set always made McCaffrey more likely to get paid than most. It is surprising the deal was finalized at this moment in time, but the Panthers clearly wanted to make a commitment to their offensive engine as they embark on a reset. McCaffrey is coming off a campaign where he became just the third player in NFL history to reach 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season. He has averaged 4.7 yards per carry and 8.3 yards per reception for his career. Especially considering the absurd amount of passes he catches for a running back, that second number is extra impressive. Even with Cam Newton out and Teddy Bridgewater in, CMC has the strongest claim to No. 1 overall status in 2020.

MN was one of the most prolific play-action teams but struggled without it last season. According to ESPN's pass block win rate using NFL Next Gen Stats, the Vikings sustained their blocks through 2.5 seconds on just 48% of their non play-action dropbacks ranking 27th in the NFL.

Christian McCaffrey is the only player with 2,500 rushing yards AND 2,500 receiving yards in his first 3 seasons....ever.

Cooks career stats

2104 rush
914 rec

McCaffery

2920 rush
2523 rec

Yet Cook claims he's the best RB in the NFL? Maybe he meant only when we're playing Detroit.

On a per game Cook is ballpark with McCaffrey. I'm guessing he will think he is worth at least $13 million per year.

Which brings us to the point that how can the Vikings pay Cook the big bucks when he misses so many games. McCaffrey, correct me if I'm wrong, has not missed a single game. I would not pay the big bucks. I have memories of Adrian Peterson making the big bucks and then getting hurt. Why tie big money to any running back. They get hurt a lot and it probably happens even more frequently as they get older.

Robert Smith was hurt a lot early then he did pretty well.

Who's for tying big money to a RB?

Yeah that's fair?????? NOT!!!!!!! Last year he missed 2. If he keeps trending to missing less games than the year before he will never miss another game.
