Is it 10 or 11? Here is a lot of information to digest.

THC:

Changes to the drug policy include a reduction in penalties for players who test positive for THC (eliminating suspensions solely based on positive tests), an abbreviated testing window (from four months to two weeks at the start of training camp) and a significant increase in the threshold for a positive test (nanogram limit rises from 35 to 150).

Smart move, and it gives the Minnesota sports world something to chew on for the next couple months.

Terms are everything... Dropping the no trade clause from Cousins contract would be advantageous as well...

Unconfirmed but a buddy just texted me that Kirk's extension frees up about $10 million for 2020.

looks like a two-year deal with $9m dead money in the third year - or we accept a $45m cap hit in the third year....

Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero
#Vikings QB Kirk Cousins' contract extension clears $10 million in 2020 cap space, source said. He was due $29.5 million in final year of his old contract. Now under contract for three years, $96 million, including $61M fully guaranteed.

Sean Borman@SeanBormanNFL
Kirk Cousins cap hits on new extension:

• 2020: $21M
• 2021: $31M
• 2022: $45M

Courtney Cronin@CourtneyRCronin
Cousins does not have the same 'no trade clause' provision on his new, 2-year deal, per source..

A surprise: the #Vikings have franchise tagged S Anthony Harris, either keeping him in Minnesota or allowing them to trade him. Maybe the top FA safety won’t be free.

They probably have no intention of having him on the roster for 2020 however it gives the team a chance to get something for him in a trade. Granted interested teams can just wait it out until we drop the tag but if he's the guy they want they'll need to give us a late round pick.

Basically, the decision to extend Cousins means that the Vikings will keep doing what they’ve been doing for three more years. That means they need to keep doing it with the guys who’ve been doing it, and it would be a surprised if they’re already working on doing those deals to extend Zimmer and Spielman...

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/03/16/vikings-now-should-extend-mike-zimmer-rick-spielman-dalvin-cook/

Just more pushing dead cap out and mortgaging our future in the name of Kirk Cousins winning a Super Bowl...

Whoever abused Cronin for her tweet about Cousins turning down extension offers was spot on.

His comment comes on the same day the Vikings signed quarterback Kirk Cousins to a two-year extension, through 2022. Which invites speculation that, with the Vikings keeping Cousins, Diggs has decided he wants out.

Also out there that Diggs is not a huge Thielen fan and has been factor in coexisting in backfield sharing receptions and spotlight.

Will miss the threat, wont miss the DIVA and pouting headcase he became here as of late...

@dalvincook !!

(Dan Sileo on Twitter)

I haven't confirmed this.

Edit: I now think it's not true.
