One trade proposal with Chicago is Zach Levine and Laure Markinen for the First, Jones and Culver.. Thoughts.

Awful.

Zach is fun, but not actually good or impactful. Lauri is just OK, and due to be paid.

I take it you are not big on a Bulls trade? Maybe trade the one for the 4 and another asset.

I'd trade for the #4 and a lightly protected #1 in 2021.

I don't want Zach or Markkanen.

I don't do a trade with any protection on the 2021 FRP. Odds are the pick it between 10-14 and it could definitely be totally out of the lottery. We need to get out shot at it or no go.

No way in hell if it doesn't include #4 and then this is debatable.

Getting Zach back does nothing for me. As David said, he’s a talented athletic player. But meaningful impact towards a winning program is debatable.

To be honest, I think all of the popular top three targets are flawed. Moving down seems like a decent tactic if there are takers. I'd rather package #1 and #17 for a couple top 10 picks.

I like the idea of getting picks for next year. The 2021 draft is supposed to be lllloooooooooaaaaaded.

Me too.

Like if I could figure out a way to get #4 and, say #7, I'd be thrilled to walk away with Hayes and Okongwu or Vassell.

But it would be great to get #4 from Chicago and, say, their #1 with Top 3 protection next year and unprotected the following. That team is not sniffing the Playoffs anytime soon.

I like Vessell for sure. He seems to have terrific instincts as an off-ball defender.

Yeah. The problem with him is he does nothing else on offense besides shoot. And his shooting volume was really low.

Still, I like his help defense and "catch-n-shoot" ability. The defense will play immediately. Fits much better than a low-efficiency chucker.

Trade down for a extra pick and find a way to get Avdija.

I'm not sure what to make of him.

He's a guy that can do a little of everything, but nothing exceptionally.

After not doing much most of the year, he did come on strong when they started playing again after COVID, but its a pretty small sample.

And I'm worried he'll never be a good shooter.

I'd still take him ahead of Edwards. And maybe Ball.

But I'd definitely take Hayes ahead of Deni.

Looks to me that he is a superb passer and good in most aspects of the game.
The more I read up on him the better I like him. Sounds like the Warriors like him a lot too. Might be picked higher than many expect.

These breakdowns of potential players only deepens my hope that they trade out for picks next year, when there are players actually worth drafting.

Avdija averaged 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists over 33 games for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, while shooting 52.6 percent overall and 35.3 percent from 3-point range.

In the process, he became the youngest MVP in Israeli Basketball League history.

"Aggressive offensive player who is in attack mode every time he steps onto the floor," ESPN's Mike Schmitz writes. "Loves shooting pull-up 3-pointers in transition. Brings toughness, competitiveness and swagger.

"Has made significant strides on defense. Covers ground well and plays with real intensity getting over screens, battling on the glass and rotating to protect the rim. Gets in passing lanes, blocks quite a few shots and rebounds well."

Drew Shiller NBC Sports.

Not my favorite draft. Hoping again we trade and pick up a potential player like Avdija later in the 1st round.

If his FT shooting didn't suck he'd be #1 on my draft board. Right now he's third behind Wiseman and Okongwu.

I'm thinking #4 is about the latest we can get him. Maybe 5.

I could see him going #1 or #2. Not expecting it, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Those are really misleading stats by Shiller.

I mean, they're true if you only count the games played against other Israeli teams. But if you look at his Euroleague numbers, they paint a very different story:

Avdija averaged 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists over 26 games for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, while shooting 43.6 percent overall and 27.7 percent from 3-point range.

Easier this way. 2019-20 season:

Euroleague: 26 Games. 14.3 MPG, 4.0 PPG (53/35/59), 4.7 RPG, 2.0 APG.
Israeli BSL: 33 Games. 27.6 MPG, 12.9 PPG (44/28/56), 2.6 RPG, 1.2 APG.

I think he's going to be a very good complimentary guy. For a winning team, he probably scores 8 points, but makes a bunch of little plays that many fans don't even notice. I don't think he does anything well enough to be a star.

My guess is people want him to be Luka, but I think his ceiling is closer to a combo of Spurs-era Boris Diaw and Dario Saric.

Top 8 draft choice?
