At 9-2 this is the Twins best 11 game start in franchise history going back at least 59 years. I don't know if it includes in Senators history.

Some good news

Only have to lop off Thielbar by Thursday (roster is currently at 29)

MLB rosters will be reduced from 30 players to 28 starting Thursday and remain at that number for the rest of the season and postseason, sources confirmed to ESPN.

The initial plan had been to reduce the roster to 28 this week before reducing it again to 26 after another two weeks. However the recent outbreak of positive COVID-19 tests led to a change in plans.

The taxi squad will also be expanded from three players to five, sources confirmed.

The Athletic was first to report the changes.

Twins started the season 9-2 in 2001.

MLB.com listed every team's "need" ahead of the trade deadline

Twins: Left-handed reliever
Aside from closer Taylor Rogers, the Twins are lacking a situational lefty who can get both lefties and righties out. Minnesota has a well-rounded team without many holes, so bolstering the bullpen with another southpaw might be its biggest need unless health concerns appear in the coming weeks.
