Question for someone on 1st Kirk fumble.

Ball is rolling around and ref comes in and blows whistle late. Most of the guys quit going for ball.

You are going to tell me that they should still be awarded the ball.

I used to like Zimmer...but this loss is on him and him alone...to not kick a chip shot field goal to go up 8 is beyond me...do not understand it at all...instead, they go for it...of course design a play that the defense can see from a mile away...and get stuffed...now, not only have you given the f'n Seahawks a glimmer of hope, you gave them an opportunity to win!! ****ing Zimmer is who he is...a choker when it truly matters....so damn frustrated by this loss...the team completely outplayed the Hags except for 6 minutes in the 3rd qtr and the last drive....****!!!!

We all feel your pain. I've always likened this team under Zimmer to the Bengals teams under Marvin Lewis. An above average competitive football team, that just isn't elite. Not sure it ever will be under Zimmer.

Zimmer and Cousins are two peas in a pod... throw in Spiels as well in mix..

ALL are below average football minds... that mix will get you same results day in and day out...

Just a note. If Mattison has adjusted to the outside it looked like he would have walked into the EZ

He was a little Michael Bennett-ish on that run

Just seen a screen shot on Ben Goesslins twitter.

He easily walks in. It was a good play call. Just bad decision by Mattison.

Just more salt in the wound.

I mentioned that at the time. And then they didn't replay it either.

If the whistle occurs before Seattle recovers the ball, then it should just be a... well I don't know what it should be, but the play should be over, with no Seattle recovery. Anyway how about the writings that screwed I'm sure the NFL will change the rule and we'll screw the next time by because that's the way it works

I don't feel it. The loss is not on Zimmer...at all. He got his guys up for a tough primetime game on the road that we would have won with better execution on a couple of plays.

It was a telegraphed formation. We were getting seven yards-per-carry with wide receivers on the field. Spread them out and then run it.

The problem was Ham got stood up and Mattison chose the wrong side to goo around him. If Ham makes that block it would have been a first down. Interesting choice to run behind Samia when the left side was blowing holes in the defense all night.

Thought Zimmer made good decisions and went for it a couple times on 4th down. Wasn't Zimmer ball tonight.

I think you try to tie it at that point in the game. Late 3rd quarter.

Play call. Genius if it works, idiot if it doesn't. We have better plays that give us a better chance.

In hindsight, Ham sealed defender inside. We've seen Cook bounce it outside many times this year.

Ya, I didn't mind going for it, but the QB draw was a bad choice and Kirk rushed it a little too.

How did it cost us? If we had gone for one, they would have gone for one at the end of the game.

At the time I didn't like the call. But it didn't cost us anything. At the end of the day, they scored four touchdowns and we scored three touchdowns and two field goals.

exactly. Too early to start chasing pts in the 3rd qtr.

What made it made a doubly bad idea was calling a QB draw with Cousins.

I understand Zim's mentality in going for the first down. I am usually a big fan of going for it. No guts, no glory. In this case, I think the game situation dictated kicking the FG though. Make the FG and you put your team in position to win or tie in regulation. The Sea Hags would have to put it in the end zone twice; score the TD and convert the 2 pt conversion. Don't make the first down, you put your team in position to lose.

Having Cousins run a QB draw is like a pitcher being locked into a 3-2 with a dangerous hitter and throwing his 4th best pitch.

Yea, a case can be made. They way the defense was playing, make Seattle be perfect for a tie.

What lost the game was a failure to execute on a handful of key plays, not the decisions themselves. We're just not that good right now, but getting better. This is not a playoff team, so an aggressive approach is preferable.

Yes, and that single missing point begat the decision to go for it on 4th, because a FG kept it at a 1 score game vs 2 scores.

I don't think it is an either or scenario. Questionable decisions and key breakdowns in execution both contributed to losing that game.

Considering that the Vikings had already outsmarted the Texans last week we the Cousins 4th down sweep, maybe Seattle was prepared for more run Cousins trickery. Maybe Kubiak thinking was 'they would never suspect we would try and pull that 2 games in a row'.
