Should have kept the veteran they cut to play PF

Whoda thunk Culver would finish with a double-double? 10 boards?

Layman, as DL noted...bleh

And he still had double-figures.

Good for him.

Ricky Rubio: “I hate to be that guy, but we didn’t play good”

Dane Moore: Ricky Rubio with some interesting commentary on the Wolves D postgame -- I'll put it in the pod tonight.

But it sounds like the zone was something added this week. Rubio acknowledged it's why they won, but also said: "When you play zone, it means your defense isn't working."

His game over game improvements are nuts.

Game 1 preseason he could do nothing but force jump shots, game 1 reg season he’s navigating the PnR better than our vet wings and distributing around the court. His improvement has been absurd.

He’s got that wiggle/hesitation that gets him right past his guy and is improving at attacking through contact. I don’t understand how he gets better this fast.

Ok, the starters were

Layman/Towns/Okogie/Beasley/Rubio

How soon do you think that changes? and with....

Enjoy your insights.

Rubio only started because Russell missed shoot around because of a delayed COVID test, so we’ll see a change Saturday.

We should probably start Okogie or Edwards at PF until we can find someone more suited.

It looks like Wolves+ is being repeated at 2:30am CST on FSN.

If you have the channel, set your DVR. It’s a classic.

“I've been fortunate to be around a number of young rookies and the poise that I thought he played with in letting the game come to him too was really impressive …" Saunders said. "For a young 19-year-old rookie player to be able to make those reads in his first game out, I was really impressed and happy more than anything [with] how engaged he was with his teammates and how confident he was with his teammates because that's something that we need with our group."

Yes, that sounds very un-Wiggins like. Sounds good to me.

No televised Wolves for me tonight. YoutubeTV dropped FSN. And every other streaming service did too, except AT&T I think. And I'm not going to them.

These feuds between sports channels and providers suck.

Only thing I've seen is a beautiful spin move layup by Edwards. Which against a real defense, help would have came and stuffed it. But I'm willing to credit Edwards for seeing that the lane was going to be wide open.

My thought with streaming services is, you get what you pay for. There are no guarantees. People switch from cable or satellite to streaming to save money. That's fine, but you kind of forfeit your right to bitch about it.

Now, if you're paying big bucks for expanded cable packages or full DISH/DirecTV and you don't get the sports you want? I do have a problem with that.

Local Cable Company was offering a better package from our local cable company for $30 less.....so do you think everyone should pay $100/month for service then?

I think FSN will be back on Hulu and Google TV shortly. If not there will be a problem. People will bitch or cancel.

Both raised their rates and dropped a fav channel.

When FSN has a product Google and Hulu will put it back on. There wasn't a product for 4 months---nothing to watch so FSN didn't have anything of value.

Wild back in January....probably just a few weeks? Wild, Gophers, College Basketball back---then there is a product.

Held them to 44 in the 2nd half.

Seemed like Rubio’s back-to-back steaks really igniting the team.

The zone is interesting. Detroit only has one guy that can break it down with the dribble. Will be interesting to see how we do against a team with multiple ball handlers.

KAT was great, but needs to shoot more. He was passing up 3s in rhythm at an alarming rate. His passing was terrific.

Russell needs to shoot less. Or at least quit taking so many off balance shots.

Culver looks like he might be special.

Okogie looked like he’s starting to play under control.

Edwards is not Wiggins. He’s much more skilled and much more engaged. Needs to get that shot to drop.

The only guy worse than Juancho was Layman. We’re going to be better off going small with Okogie or Edwards playing PF.

Russell may have been taking tough shots, but they were going in. 4-11 3s is 36.36% and 3-5 on 2s. I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

People love spending 100 a month for multiple streaming services rather than 120 for Cable.
And they love to talk about it.

I’d rather pay more and not bore anyone.

Marney's interview with Edwards is up on NBA.com

Watch it. Honest to god, its two national treasures having the most amazing conversation ever.

Edwards may already be a better interview than KG:

He’s completely without a filter and has zero doubts about himself. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard someone speak with such genuine self confidence.

Yet, it somehow comes off as kind of charming.

He also totally threw Marney off her game - which only added to the fun factor.
