Lost in the win are two significant concerns:

We got killed on the glass 58 to 40, and they shot nearly 20 more free throws than us (37 to 18).

That’s the same wrist Towns fractured last season, causing him to miss the final 12 games.

He admitted last year he played for a while despite the wrist being broken — and of concern Saturday, Towns said his wrist was still feeling "pretty sore."

Towns said he came back in primarily to serve as a decoy and be there for his teammates.

"I couldn’t catch anything," Towns said. "I was really there more just to be a distraction on the court. I just was there in case my team needed me."

Towns didn’t have any update on the long-term prognosis of the wrist with coach Ryan Saunders saying the Wolves will hope to know more about it prior to Sunday’s game against the Lakers.

"I didn’t want to just quit the game and go get X-rays and stuff," Towns said. "I wanted to be available in case my team needed me, and just be out there cheering them on. I did what I had to do."

So while it appeared initially that Towns’ return was a good sign, there could be more to come on his status going forward.

first 2 games

Edwards and Culver very efficient shooting

Offsets Russell chucking it up there 20 times hoping to hit something

Layman is posting massive 0's
Juancho not helping either

Dane Moore: The expectation is that Karl-Anthony Towns (wrist) will play tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers.

There's always a chance that something flares up in warmups, but KAT should be good to go.

Good news if true. It would be a shame to lose KAT just when they seem to be figuring some things out..

Dane:

Anthony Davis (calf) is out tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kyle Kuzma is expected to start in Davis’ place. Montrezl Harrell will also get minutes at the 4 next to Marc Gasol.

If Kuzma starts, I expect Josh Okogie will again start at PF next to Karl-Anthony Towns.

Timberwolves: Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a left wrist dislocation and will be re-evaluated weekly on a return to play plan. He won’t require surgery. A hand specialist evaluated Towns in LA today.

There’s optimism that this will be a relatively short-term absence for Towns, who’s led the Wolves to a 2-0 start with 22.6 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5 assists per game. Timberwolves play the Lakers tonight.

Looking at Wolves roster. We look woefully undersized, especially with no KAT.

Russell isn’t a PG. He’s too careless with the ball and his handle is far too loose.

Any pressure and he gives it up.

Dude has 5 turnovers in four 3rd quarter minutes.

Cramping?
I thought he might have fractured both legs the way the world stopped turning.
Come on kid. There was some embarrassment factor there, for sure.

21. Minnesota Timberwolves
2020-21 record: 2-1
Previous ranking: 23

The left wrist injury to Karl-Anthony Towns disrupted a really positive opening week for the Wolves, with his importance put on full display in Sunday's blowout loss to the Lakers. But the Wolves are young and growing, and there are encouraging takeaways, particularly Anthony Edwards' solid start to his career. Plus, Towns' injury isn't as bad as initially feared. He should be back soon, and the Wolves can look to regain some of that momentum. -- Young

This week: @LAC, WAS, DEN

Turns out its actually a strained hamstring.

Wolves always downplay injuries - until they can't.
