Conituing my thoughts from my draft thread post...

I'm using Cousin's 1st on CB. I sign Patterson for couple more years, and make CB a top FA acquisition with our newfound $.

I'm going with the thought that KO will want to make his mark with a guy he molds from scratch instead of a set in his ways Cousins. Add in Cousins cap hit and how he probably cheeses off the owners with the anti vax thing I think he's gone

That would be twice he quit taking his medicine. And had an episode that we knew of.

He's admitted to drug addiction. I suspected it played a factor this time too.

Doubling down on doing it wrong.

The potential for a tragic ending is real.

I don't know enough to say it'll be easier away from football or not.

what was his drug addiction?....

KOC worked with Cousins in the past. I think it will depend on how well he thinks Cousins fits what KOC wants to do.

i was thinking of our first three picks being wr/cb/cb - wr being 1st or 2nd, but in whichever order makes the most sense in terms of who's available....

i'd go free agent center and guard - get a player that we know can do the job at center, and then someone to compete with wyatt davis on the right side....

Decent plan. I've switched gears on WR. We have 4 going in.

Keep an eye on Brian Allen, center and Austin Corbett, guard today from the Rams. I could see us targeting one or both.

Cap space needed, of course.

i think we'll need another starting wr very soon...thielen is fading, but could be a #3, i don't want to depend on osborn or smith-m are starters....

i like the idea of trading a 1st for a 2nd and 1st next draft...saving up for a quarterback move...also, i'd like to give mond a shot at starting 2022....

Not everyone gets it or comes to Jesus on the same schedule.
Those that appear to get it can fall apart, some that appear to never get it right eventually do.
Other NFL players have received multiple chances to return to play or return to play after some pretty serious incidents. I hope Griff gets fair treatment and is not affected by bias decision makers may have for brain health that they don't have for other types of abuses such as alcohol, drugs, domestic or sexual, etc

Doesn't matter as the NFL is a business comprised of 32 owners. Griffen running amok is bad press.

Bias? The last occupation someone should want for a person with mental issues is a high stress job involving banging heads.

The Vikings can reasonably say they gave him a second chance but now believe he needs more dedicated care.

Some of these players have screwed up twice, more and they're back.

Because we're talking about depression, anxiety, other brain issues they can't come back? I can't get on board with that ...

You mean he might pull the trigger? He might pull it if he doesn't get help because he's not playing football.

The world's full of people with issues.

He you F'd up, can't be a part of this world any more. Go find a different world where we're not responsible for you and your behaviors.

Meanwhile, keep cracking your head and don't worry about the long term. Heck, maybe CTE, if any, will cancel out your bi-polar (or whatever he has) issues.

I wasn't aware cracking heads was the cause of his problems - did you stay in a Holiday Inn last night?

Sorry for the bs post then ...

i think you're right - he won't get another shot...maybe it's time for everson to focus on something else - something more important....

I don't know what is exactly the problem but if it's bipolar that's successfully managed in all walks of life.
Of course one needs to do his part.
And yes imo bias plays a huge part in how people look at mental issues

Don't disagree with any of this.

But EG's not just super up one moment and depressed the next. He's shooting off guns in an altered state which to me signifies drug and or alcohol use. He's an admitted addict who was probably using and off his meds.

Hence my saying "... maybe CTE, if any, will..."

Often, people will miss things like that when they are emotional or really bent on one side of the issue.

It is successfully managed. And one needs to do their part. Yet it seems pretty clear he has failed to do his part... on at least two occasions.

How many chances do you in particular give him?

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Griffen stated that “Kirk cousins is ass. Thank you” and followed that up with replies saying “Ask ZIMMER if he wanted Kirk?????” and “He will tell you the truth??? Who wanted Kirk cousins???? Take your guess???”

In addition to the abuse of question marks, this kind of statement is exactly the kind of thing that will keep him out of a Vikings uniform in 2021.

Referencing the bold... NOT!

I'm got my shit locked down.

You were saying you hoped he didn't face bias bc of his mental condition. It's a different game when you're adding in hard drug usage AND breaking treatment. That's not bias against someone with bipolar.

Better if the Rams lose to keep KO hungry. He'll obviously have something to prove but not tasting thatvwin will drive him harder.

NFL running back Adrian Peterson was arrested Sunday and charged with felony domestic violence, according to TMZ Sports.

Peterson and his wife, Ashley, were reportedly on a plane set to leave LAX for Houston before the two were involved in a verbal and physical altercation. The plane was brought back to the gate, where Peterson was brought into custody.

"Earlier today Adrian and his wife Ashley had a verbal argument on a flight, and he was removed from the plane," a representative for the couple told TMZ. "This is a private misunderstanding between husband and wife and we anticipate it will all be resolved shortly."

According to TMZ, Ashley remained on the plane and traveled with the rest of the passengers to Houston.

The couple spent Saturday night in Los Angeles at the DIRECTV Presents Maxim Electric Nights party ahead of Super Bowl LVI.
