After the dismal performance from the entire team on Tuesday the line shakeup had to happen. Not just for KK, but for the entire team.
Personally, I would like to see the GREEF line back together for good. They are beasts when together and the way they play gets the other guys going.

It helps that Greenway was really aggressive in the first. That's his problem sometimes. He comes out lazy and expects to be good because he's big. Doesn't work that way.

Last year, 51 games and 7 goals. This year, 16 games and 8 goals. No doubt so far.

Greenlay sucks. The only thing he brings to the table is making Lapanta sound almost intelligent.

I really miss the days of Al Shaver doing North Stars games. Best sportscaster I have ever heard in any sport in all of my life.

Cardiac kids almost do it again. Down 2 with 4 to go they pulled Kap. Fiala got the first one back around the 2 minute mark and Ek tied it with about 50 seconds to go. Lost in the shoot out tho. Got a point on 2 brutal road b2b’s but damn near got more. Never a quit in this bunch

BTW, if you saw the game how crazy was it that Evanson actually punched Darby in the chin when Ek tied it? Obviously didn’t mean it but the look on Darby’s face was pretty priceless 😂

Yeah, I thought he was going to hurt one of the coaches after that goal. LOL

I have a question for people with a much greater knowledge of Gophers hockey than I have. Is the play of Rem Pitlick pretty much what was expected and he is an absolute waiver steal...or is he someone who is having some success under the radar for now?

From what I recall, when he was a Gopher he lead the team in scoring and was always the game breaker when he got the puck on his stick.
I wasn't sure he would hold up in the NHL with his size, but his speed and skill have always been there. In my mind he is a steal that will mostly play a bottom 6 role, but could flourish there with his skill level.

FYI, Matt Boldy hit the ice flying in his return from injury. He has 3 G and an assist in his first two games with Iowa. I have a feeling Boldy is going to force his way up before long.

Thanks for the insight. His size shouldn't be an issue. 5'11" and 196 lbs isn't exactly a runt.

He is basically bigger than KK or Fiala then?

All three are roughly the same size.

All three are roughly the same size.

And all 3 look a little small out there with all of the 6'+ players these days. The thing that they also have is speed and skill and the ability to avoid a hard full on hit. Again, I really liked the pick up myself.

SMF is a big fan of the pick up too. He describes Pitlick as Schroeder with more in the trunk. This is high praise as SMF likes Schroeder better than his own mother does.

Not a bad comparison at all. He's also a lot like Rau but, so far, producing on the big stage. He's not going to be a point per game guy but I would love to see him be a contributor all season. A ton of guys have had a 2 game run of luck. Can he keep it up?

My son says there are Fiala trade rumors swirling..
(Vancouver C Miller?)

Give them Rask too and bring up Boldy.

As long as we can get rid of all of Rask's cap hit I'm all for it!

Rask's salary drops off the books at the end of the season. If they trade him, they may have to take back a longer term matching salary.

If that is the case I'd rather keep him so we are able to cut him with no salary implications after this season. If we can add him to a trade without taking back any salary in return I do it. I don't hate having him on our team, he isn't a terrible player, he's just slow compared to the rest of the lineup.

He did look (somewhat) better after coming off the healthy scratch list,
but if that doesn't light a fire under your ass, then you shouldn't be in the NHL.

Sturm with a shorty makes it 2-0 heading into the first intermission.
