Agree and glad you guys see it too. I bitched so much about Dubnyk I thought I had developed DTSD. 😳

I’m ready to turn it over to Kap.

Yep.

There should be zero reluctance from Dean to make Kaapo #1 at this point, ze-ro.

I get it. The Leafs are a good team in a tough division. Last night was about one team just being disinterested in playing. Very disappointing effort from a team with dreams of home ice advantage.

I didn't catch last nights game, and it sounds like it was a good one to miss.
We are a team that has to be fully engaged to be at our best, and lately there have been more passengers than drivers......

I didn't really see a lack of effort. This was more of 2 good teams cancelling each other out IMO.

The other thing that's becoming pretty annoying. KK doesn't get the same "star" advantage as others. How many times do guys grab at him or hook his hands without a call? It's ridiculous. We should have had 5, minimum, PP's through 2 periods on that alone. Not a 1 was called.

We could also really use a re-heated Hartman. It was clear he wouldn't keep up that early pace but man, he's fallen off a cliff....

Agreed JJ,

The difference was Mathews, that dude will pick your pocket back checking and make you pay before
you can say, "what just happened?".

Fiala and Boldy played well. I thought the rest of the team looked like they were out for a pregame skate. Especially the blue line.

Have to agree here too.
(I just agree with everything)
There was an awful lot of whiffing going on during prime opportunities..
Holding the puck in at the point was a problem too, flashbacks to SOS days..can't remember his name.

Zidlicky

Zuc had a whiff that was truly unbelievable on the PP. He was setup so perfect in front of the net I was shocked when the lamp didn't go off.

If you want to know the results of losing every face off and every puck battle and just going through the motions, re-watch last night's game. BRU-TAL!

I only watched the first 10 minutes of the game and had seen enough.
After watching the Gophers game I tuned in the Wild and just couldn't see sitting through another lackluster display of hockey by them.
We have the talent, it's really about the "want to" attitude and we haven't seen much of that lately.
Ever since the all star break Kirill has been so busy trying to "stick handle in a phone booth" he forgot about playing hockey it looks like.
Harman has disappeared to the point that our top line has been pretty bad recently, and as usual with Fiala, his line is hit or miss with as many give aways as good plays. I sure hope Guerin and Evason can find a way to snap the team out of this bad run.

Uh oh. NHL is cutting all business ties with Russia. I heard our best player is a Putin-loyalist. How will this work out for the Wild?

No, I actually did hear that Kaprizov and his girlfriend are Putin supporters. Most in Russia still are, so this is not surprising news.

Most of Russia does not support Putin. He just rigs elections to make it look like he gets 90% of the vote. There are huge protests going on over the Ukraine invasion. Protesters are being arrested by the thousands.

Where did you hear about Kaprizov. Meat Sauce? Tenna B?

Meanwhile in actual hockey news......
The Wild got their asses kicked by Calgary again to make it 4 losses in a row and counting.
Hoping a trip to lowly Philly and Buffalo can kick start another run of good hockey for them.

I might have to put the brakes on the kind of thinking I was doing just a couple of weeks ago. This team had the feeling of one that really might compete in a championship run, but now?

I know not to get too down about a bad stretch, but having been a Minnesota sports fan for too many decades, I should have known better than to actually think we had a chance.

Yup, outclassed by big boy playoff style hockey.
We aren't there yet that's for sure. We need some size in the middle that can win draws and some added size on the back end as well.

ST's are back to being a disaster. When we were hot we got every bounce in the arena. We aren't that lucky now and it's showing. A good, playoff winning team, doesn't need to consistently pull the goalie to pull a rabbits foot out of it's ass.

Boy did we need this win tonight. Not good to give up four goals, but our scrappy guys kept up the offense.
