They definitely looked like the good 'ol Wild we had gotten used to seeing. Hopefully that's exactly what we see for the rest of the season. It helps that we have so many home games going into this stretch.

Nice job Wild!

Damn, fun game. We have some really good "hands" on this team. Fiala might have the best in the league. KK is clearly elite but Boldy knocking pucks out of the air and Mooses goal were

Guys that big aren't supposed to have good hands like that. And, Dumba was missed.....ducks and runs........

The bummer for this team, is how much they rely on the GREEF line to make them go.
As they go, the Wild goes. First time since he was suspended Foligno looked fully engaged and it was good to see.

I asked SMF for his take a few days back and got texting tirade. He thinks Talbot, Goligoski and Benn have given us whatever they had left and are done. They missed Greenway's size and Dumba's energy.

Yup, as usual, that sounds about right.

Stupid game isn't televised tonight. We're looking into setting up a free short-term HULU account to get it.

It's dumb. We have something like 600 channels on our tv, but can't get a Wild game on.

Wild playing sloppy careless hockey. Down 3-2 after the first.

And it continues in the second. Down 4-2. Playing like a stinking pile of dog shit.

That said, should be tied. That was the weakest goalie interference I’ve seen. If your guy gets pushed into your keeper, that’s a you problem, not me.

And just like that we are up 5-4. Detroit is one awful team.

So are we at times. Our defensive positioning, at times, is just awful. As bad as Talbot has looked, a lot of times it’s not his fault.

That being said, as bad as Detroit is, that was a great team win. We played awful, they went up. We respond, and go up and they go thug mode. We stand up to them and then it’s a hostel crowd for no reason other than “we suck, let’s see some fights”.

They cheer KK getting run and he says FU and scored the go ahead goal. They tie it on more terrible D and in OT Fiala says “we’re more talented but thanks”.

What a roller coaster

ESPN+ is like $6.95 a month.....a cup off coffee these days.

We don’t usually need it because they usually broadcast on Bally Sports.

Good final tonight. I will take two points however we can get them.

I think last night was as much about Detroit's will to lose as it was about the Wild's will to win.

It showed a lot of character though. We're not exactly the Broad Street Bullies but we didn't back down one bit when they decided to get chippy cause they suck. Wasn't our best game by any means. We still fought like hell and got the win. I like that, especially come playoff time.

I also want to say that I've come full circle on Fiala. Dude has always had the talent but I openly questioned his head coming in to the season. They chose KK to be the face and he was going to have to become 1B. I didn't think he had it in him. Thought he would be a problem or sulk.

He hasn't 1 bit. Puts his head down and is a big time contributor. I'd now give him the money he deserves. Last year, this time, no way would I have said that.

Watched highlights on Youtube. Thankful I didn't have to endure that play by play gal for the whole game. Nice donnybrook at the end of the 2nd. Why did Talbot get 2 for Goalie Interference?

Not sure what a school having a religious affiliation has to do with hockey. The whole ...private schools recruit...is so over blown. Public schools are just as guilty..As a St. Thomas grad, I got a chuckle out of listening to Hermantown's coach whining that the Cadets should be in AA. He overlooked that other than the championship games, Hermantown was just as dominant at A as STA. When asked if they should move up top, he played the public / private card.
