New owners phasing in

A real head, non country club, head coach to start the season

Ant 2.0

How will the season go?

If healthy, 35-40 wins and competing for a Play-in chance.

Towns FG% has dropped four straight years to 48.6%. I think they will be in the mix if he reverses that trend.

I am more optimistic; we have a legitimate coach with time to impliment his systems and I would say the best talent in years. Just about as important, a lot of players in contract years.

I guess I wouldn't be shocked, but I'd be mildly surprised if any of those 3 are with the Wolves next year.

I actually would be shocked if all three make it thru the year...upgrade pieces.

I think they on the right track with Finch. Ant progresses another step or two. Towns settles into a more stable, well defined groove. Beverly and Prince provide some needed physical and defensive presence. Better team wide 3 point shooting.

High end if no major injuries or catastrophes is hovering around .500 and chasing a low playoff spot.

And by the way, I always think they can flirt with .500 every year at this time. But this year it’s different I swear. It seem like quite as much of a stretch.

And yes I realize how sad it is when flirting with .500 is the dream I’m perennially hoping for.

It's kind of sad the way we Timberwolves fans so easily embrace lowered expectations.

You'd think one of these years this regime would just blindly stumble into something and go on a run like Atl did last year.

A lot went into that Atlanta run. And it all started at the top. Nothing blind or stumbling about it. It was a 3 year rebuild that worked out really well.

They did not have a single starter left from the Budenholzer era.

They had a bunch of really young players (that were good draft picks) start to figure it out and come together.

They added some really key vets (Capela, Gallo, Bogdonovich, Lou Williams).

They canned a coach who started last year 14-20 and replaced him with a guy who finished the year 27-11

I no longer want Simmons. If he’s capable of being this way with the Sixers, just wait until he’s been around here a while.

It’s kind of like when someone is cheating on their spouse to be with you and they eventually leave them to be with you. They have proven they can and will cheat, they’ll likely do it to you eventually.

It's kinda hard to imagine a player who will make such a fuss in one situation (justified or not) who will then be a model citizen in another.

I am in the same boat but the 76ers were the first spouse to cheat...

I've decided I am with Karl on the coming year. There is a different feel to it. I just have this deep gut feeling that Anthony Edwards is going to go out and make the league his bitch this year. There just seems to be a KG quality to him. He's supremely talented and has a relentless work ethic. Ant just never seems satisfied with what he has done. He is more aware than anyone that he has more levels to reach and he won't be satisfied until he gets there. Even more, he expects to get there. Finch seems like the coach to help him get there. Having him running the show from day 1 should make a big difference.

The season gets 82 games to pound the starch out of my optimism. Until then, I choose to be optimistic.

Does NBA allow a player and team to agree on voiding a contract?

I can't see the 76ers releasing him because they would be on the hook.

Nope.

There would be too many ways to circumvent the cap doing that.

Its not even easy to get out of a contract because of a career ending injury.

Love Ant. Have from the start. Will be real interested to see how much he can progress this year. He's so young and he has so much to learn. he needs a lot of work in refining his skills, but he does have the athletic ability and drive to be a star! My favorite Wolve!!

Another season tips off tonight. I'm excited for it. Should win the opener at home against Houston.

Granted the Rockets are the worst team in the league, but that was an outstanding half of basketball.

Super aggressive on both ends.

27 point halftime lead. KAT and Ant with 21 each.
