Beverly will end up doing Beverly things in a crucial playoff game.

Untimely technical
hero 3 brick
overaggressive foul in a crucial situation

Just like every other NBA player?

I'm fine with it. For every bad thing he does, he does a dozen that really help the team.

I could be wrong. I get the intangibles. And being a role player instead of a lead guy has helped his game.

He was stellar in the playoffs with the Clippers, even when he didn't get minutes at all due to match-ups. The push on Paul was very bad, but it was over at that point.

Looking up some stats, he seemed to play well in 2019 playoffs.

At his best, he is a poor man's Rondo.

Not a great comparison.

Bev is a much better shooter than Rondo, but Rondo is a way better passer.

Bev is more of a defensive-minded combo guard than a point guard.

I'm a tiny bit concerned about Beverley tonight. Just because he's going against his old team in a playoff game. Overall this year I think his peskiness and instigator nature have been a great plus for the team. I suspect he'll be fine but the chance does exist although slim that something could happen, andhis antics could get out of hand and become too much of a sideshow.

Not overly worried about it, but lets the say the chances are greater than zero.

About the worst possible crew to handle tonight's game:

• In Ed Malloy reffed games the Clippers rank 3rd in free throws attempted per game, Wolves rank 27th.
• In Scott Foster reffed games the Clippers rank 2nd in free throws attempted, Wolves rank 29th.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. On the season Wolves are 8th in FTAs, Clippers are dead last.

Wondered if he might get vaccinated just for a chance to stick it to the Wolves one more time.

Essentially. Forced to suspend his career because he refuses to be vaccinated - despite the league mandate.

He's a wackadoo. Still believes the vaccine contains aborted fetal cells and that it alters your DNA.

Geez that’s some crazy stats. How can the league look at that and say everything is on the up & up?

Worst possible starting scenario for Towns. The plan was obviously to get physical and frustrate him. It worked to perfection. He’s out with 4 fouls in the second quarter and no FGs.

Just keep it close by halftime.

We've been much better without him tonight. We've gotten the worst version of him.

His lack of poise and maturity is starting to look more and more like a fatal flaw.

Right. He is getting mugged a lot, no doubt. But that’s what playoffs are about. You have to figure out how to adapt. Becoming a bull in a china shop is not the solution.

However, as a team they fought through a rugged ragged half and came away with a two point lead. Could have been a hell of a lot worse.

What a relief. Hard fought game. Clippers are a so much tougher team with George. Pat Bev’s defense and intensity down the stretch was off the charts.

exciting win at the end! showed a lot of grit. I can't disagree with comments about KAT, but am reasonably confident he will learn from it. Getting the win should help KAT realize he doesn't have to lead every game and there is a real team behind him, and it has to help all the rest with confidence too.

Was it just me, or did some of you get irritated with Miller and Hanlan. Never thought I would complain about a game Hanlan does but he to some extent, and Miller in particular struck me as if they had not watched ANY other Timberwolves game this year. Seemed like too many comments were from what would have been written in a Sports Illustrated summary from last October, not connected to the 5 months which have just played out. Anyway, it seems anything the Clippers did was so o o o o good and generally all the Wolves faults (and there were many) noted. Think it was mid- second qtr where one of them commented, "It seems like the Clippers should be up a dozen, instead of just 4". Well they way they were calling things they were right.

I was wondering about this: Timberwolves: Backup forward Taurean Prince was out with a swollen knee. Maybe my favorite announcers mentioned it and I missed it, or maybe they thought he was never important.

Not writing off KAT yet. The good thing is now they have a few days to reset and prepare. Towns and Finch have a good relationship. I hope they sit down and reflect on this, and Finch says something like “Okay welcome to playoff basketball. Now let’s get a plan to move ahead.”

Leading up to this, he was playing the best basketball of his career, while keeping his emotions in check. If he can get back to that, I give the Wolves even money or better against Memphis.

Timberwolves showed they can play playoff defense.....

McDaniels, Bev, Ant, Vandy, and Russell is a shutdown lineup...masterful job of subbing in by Finch late (rotated Naz, Beasley in on off possessions). George was awesome. LAC can win the next game and a Kahwi return may make a tough matchup for the Suns.

It is - provided the other team goes small like the Clippers did.

When your two bigs are 6'9, 214 and 6'9, 185 you can easily get overwhelmed with size.

Adding size has to be priority #1 in the offseason.

There must be some worry there as they signed Monroe.....The way Cleveland played the Wolves with Mobley, Love, Allen, and Mark front line mix is a blue print.

KAT is a very good BB player and can be dominant quite often. Playoff basketball however is an entirely different kind of animal.
He looked like a rookie out there much of the time and had trouble adjusting to the physicality of the game. He showed his frustrations with his constant complaining and foolish fouls. Even after getting his 5th foul he charged into and swatted at whomever he was covering. He needs to get his mental game back on track as we will need the best of him to beat Memphis.
