Senior has experience working with Sachin Gupta and Chris Finch in Houston, Pablo Prigioni with the Knicks, and several other Wolves coaches and staffers. Well thought of for his work with a Grizzlies staff that was just recognized with Zach Kleiman being named Exec of the Yr

Maybe I'm misreading the tea leaves here, but this seems like another sign that Gupta will have his interim tag removed.

Star Tribune article today says Nuggets President Tim Connelly is taking the next step towards getting hired by Wolves, is meeting with Glen Taylor. Grandpa still has to sign off on any hiring, apparently.

I’m not a great basketball exec mind, but this seems okay. He seems to have done a nice job in Denver. A lot will depend on how he intends to make over (or not make over) the rest of the front office.

I agree. I thought earlier signs pointed to promoting Gupta. But not now.

And the Nuggets have a history of not paying their successful execs.

I kind of wonder if they were looking for Gupta to make a bold move ahead of the deadline. When nothing happened perhaps that gave A-Roid and his partner their answer.

I’m not convinced Gupta is ready to be the #1 guy for an organization- or that he’s for sure gone.

ESPN Sources: Denver Nuggets President Tim Connelly has agreed to a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves that’ll make him one of the NBA’s highest compensated executives. Significant coup for Minnesota franchise.

Connelly will sign a 5-year, $40M-plus deal that includes ownership equity, sources said. Massive deal and franchise changing move for the Timberwolves.

Maybe. But I don't think the Wolves really would have benefited from a bold move. I don't think there's a move they could have made that would have made them a viable contender and in all likelihood, any move would have threatened the chemistry they were building. I'm glad Gupta didn't make a big move.

Sources: Denver Nuggets general manager Calvin Booth is now expected to assume lead basketball operations role for the franchise. There is significant belief in Booth inside the organization, and the former NBA veteran is well-respected as a rising executive across league.

Tim Connelly arrives in Minnesota at a perfect time to slay this 2022 NBA draft. Wolves have picks #19, #40, #48, #50 to work with.

Apparently the Denver Nuggets have been underpaying execs for a while:

The #Nuggets countered the Wolves' offer to Tim Connelly, but there was still a significant gap in the two offers, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Post.

Eh, a lot of picks but when the highest one is 19, don’t expect much. True, Jokic was a 2nd rounder, but finds like that happen very rarely.

If they can find a McDaniel in the mix but more of a PF...gold.
(I think they trade a player and a pick to move up). Russell, Okogie, Beasley, Naz, or Nowell.

Two other names being floated around the league as potential additions to Minnesota under Tim Connelly: Miami Heat vice president Adam Simon and Orlando Magic executive Matt Lloyd.

Have heard two names who could be joining Tim Connelly in Minnesota, per sources: Darrell Arthur and Dell Demps.

Arthur recently started working for the #Nuggets, and Demps gave Connelly one of his first breaks in New Orleans. Both are very close with Connelly.
