Then get Flores and trade for Watson.

I would consider it, after he wrote $22 million dollars worth of settlement checks and the league office said they consider the matter closed.

Watson will be broke as soon as he gets on a new team and he will demand a restructured contract immediately.

He had to pay taxes on his salary and bonus, those settlement checks will be with after tax dollars. His endorsement days are finished. He is broke and a new fat contract is his only way out.

I don't think he's THAT broke...

His contract runs through 2025, and his base salary alone is 35M this coming season.

The first possible out would be after the 2022 season, where his team would "only" suffer a 10.8M dead cap hit.

Rumblings of Jeff Fisher as GM/coach.

Hopefully, those are just rumblings.

PA is plugged in. Heard it on his show.

It looks like Denver is trying to beat all the other teams to the punch. They've requested permission to talk to nine current coaches and coordinators about their head coaching job.

At least Fisher has led teams deep into the playoffs and even a Super Bowl. I wouldn't hate it.

That's why we should be looking at CFL coaches and coordinators. Lots of offensive geniuses up there since it's a more open field and only 3 downs instead of 4.

Yep. It sounds like they casted out a very wide net, Lynn. I wonder how many potential guys you need to interview before you suffer paralysis by analysis? I would want to look at 2-4 guys that I really like rather than look at 9 or 10 people.

After taxes and spending some of the money on himself and lawyers he doesn't even have the money to pay off all the women. He is broke.

Get a good GM, Doug Pederson for HC, Deshaun Watson for QB.

You can't get Mahomes, Rodgers or Brady. The QBs coming into their own are pretty much locked into their teams for now.

Anyone you get will have drawbacks. Peyton Manning was coming off an injury, Brady was up there in age ....

Watson is young, can do things behind a poor OL, can make plays if the play called breaks down, has a strong arm and mobility.

And will demand Mahomes money and sit out if he doesn’t get his way.

Zero reason he didn’t play this year.

Guy smells like bad news IMO.

He's going to sit out instead of play on a 4/156M contract that hasn't even started yet?

I guess his average salary is only 39M instead of 45M like Mahomes...

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of reasons to want to avoid Watson.

I just don't think him asking for more money is one of them.

That wasn't really about money.

You think he's going to sit out because he makes 6M less than Mahomes?

He isn't a team guy that's for sure, it's all about "Him" and to hell with everybody else. Sort of fits his treatment of women also.

plenty of red flags, plenty.

No retreads please.

Though to be honest I will just keep an open mind. I don't want to get all worked up about one or two guys then end up upset/disappointed with who we take.

Exactly. I’m burned out on coach frustration. Even if they hire someone I don’t like … they get an offseason pass to see what direction we’re headed before I start any teeth gnashing. At least extreme teeth gnashing.

On a side note … just the fact that the team cleaned house removes a lot of rancor … I feel less urgency over Cousins being moved this offseason … I still prefer a trade but since I dont think thats going to happen … if it helps the new coach with continuity year one, fine.
