The #Vikings are signing former 49ers DL Jullian Taylor (6'5", 280) to a one-year deal, per @AdamSchefter. Taylor was a 2018 7th-round pick when Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was with SF. He was solid in a limited role, but tore his ACL in Dec. 2019 and hasn't played since. Interesting.

Judd:

The Vikings will sign defensive tackle Jullian Taylor to a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

A seventh-round pick by San Francisco in 2018 out of Temple, Taylor tore his ACL in practice in December 2019 and has not played since. Schefter, who was informed of the signing by Taylor’s agent, Dan Saffron, tweeted that Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah helped to draft Taylor in San Francisco.

Taylor, who is listed at 6-foot-5, 280 pounds, had 16 tackles, four for a loss, with two quarterback hits, one pass defensed and one fumble recovery in 12 combined games in 2018 and ’19.

Taylor, 27, was with the Titans last offseason but was let go with an injury waiver last June.

Kwesi has definitely flushed Bud Grant's philosophy down the toilet.

Taylor emerged as an NFL draft prospect despite an injury-marred college career. Taylor suffered a torn meniscus and ACL tear in the same knee in college, knocking him out of the 2016 season.

Tore his ACL in SF about the time COVID first made its appearance on earth.

Not to mention the sudden incredible depth as position after position was 'addressed'.

Just forfeit the draft; don't even show. We're good to go and it's high time the rest of the league gets the message.

We'll call it bravado. Or a new cutting edge analytics strategy imported from wall street.

But really we are squeezing Rick & Mike's roster so hard, we just never freed enough cap space to sign picks ...

excellent. a lightweight not a featherweight. maybe we can velcro him together with phillips to get our run stopper.

if nothing else, the phillips-taylor combo can swing a rubbery, loosely-jointed leg around to create confusion.

Phillips has to love the velcro idea considering he has TWICE torn the ACL and also tore the PCL in his left knee.

They can one up each other... Phillips can boast of his multiple injuries while Taylor can blame his torn ACL on his being out since Dec 2019.

But three legs? It's likely they'll at most cobble together just two.

You do know what salary Deebo wants...salary we will have to give to Jefferson and the salary cap issues we already have. I must ask are you serious?

It's not only that but what the 49ers would want us to give up to get him.
