Ingram played left guard at LSU

Maybe just switch out Ingram and Cleveland ?

Maybe Ingram is on the wrong side, and would benefit greatly from playing next to Darrisaw.

And since Cleveland is built like a tackle, you move him to O'Neil's spot, and move O'Neill inside to better help Bradbury.

So it would be:

Darrisaw-Ingram-Bradbury-O'Niell-Cleveland

Or just switch out Cleveland and Ingram

yes, i believe that ingram was the starting left guard at LSU for four years....

thing is, Cleveland is the #12 rated guard at pff...what would moving him do to his success?....

I think would be about the same for Cleveland, maybe better, he played LT in college.

At worst, Cleveland goes down slightly, but Ingram goes up significantly.

i don't see them switching Cleveland mid-season...best to do now might be to try someone else at right guard, and deal with it better in the offseason....

Rich Hill Trade Chart points*:

MN gets: Hockenson, 2023 R4 (38 points), 2024 R4 (32)

DET gets: 2023 R2 (91), 2024 R3 (50)

*2024 estimates

Vikes relinquish 71 points.

Upshot: Vikes acquired Hockenson for equivalent of the No. 69th pick.

That's not at worst...it's probably at best

Great trade Kwesi!

Doesn't make up for the crap trade in the first last draft but it's a start. I'd rather have Jameson Williams than Hock but heck of trade none the less.

Hock should be a big upgrade to the position.

Maybe Det felt sorry for fleecing Kwesi on draft day

I think I'd leave Cleveland where he is. Musical chairs at this point would ruin what chemistry they have.

If anything maybe plug Reed in at RG and let Ingram take a break. After a couple strong outings early in the season he's been pretty bad since.

Yes Bill, what you and Rapt are saying makes sense.

What I was saying would be too radical, it makes more sense just to plug in someone else at RG during the season.

Kwesi had a lot to prove next draft. Early returns on his 1st one are not good.

Right now though...I'm getting right suckered in. I think the defense is just starting to come along enough to be respectable and the offense is going to go from good to really good.

I can see the headlines now about getting/believing in Vikings after we win the battle of the 7-1's.

I say this knowing we could lose to Washington and I'll hate them.

Washington has all the markings of a game the Vikings historically lose

A game we should win on the road, on grass, against a backup QB...but its at noon so we got that going for us...which is nice

Sunday is biggest game of year IMO.

Win at Washington, a place Packers didn’t and the division is pretty much locked up.

I assume the Vikings get rolled in Buffalo.

I love your references.

Your references are out of control - everyone knows that.

Since we don't have the luxury of a bunch of solid backups, sometimes a rookie like Ingram gets thrown into the mix. And IMO he's held his own and could be a valuable player for years. You simply cannot pay $35-40 million for a QB, lock up all your top pending free agents, sign expensive UFAs, and trade for - in most cases - pricy players everywhere there is a weakness. As Cheap Bastard McCombs once said, sometimes ya just gotta coach 'em up!

Those clamoring for a replacement for Ingram should be quite content not seeing fellow rookie Booth on the field. Or any rookie not making an instant impact.

Now if we were clearly a RG away from being a SB favorite, then go for it. But that is not the situation.

A lot to prove? Hell, he is bailing on next years draft.

He is going to do the trade down-trade up thing and probably won't even show up for day 1.

I really like the trade for Hock. I thought he was a great prospect in the draft. He was a top-10 pick and has played pretty well in a lousy organization! We didn't give up too much to get him at all. If anything, I think we got more value than we gave.

Plus, we needed a pass catching TE with Irv going down.

A good TE is like a good DE or CB - they can put a lot of stress on the other side of the ball.

Ingram has certainly struggled at times and has been feast or famine. Hoping he can improve and learn as the year goes on. We need to draft OL again next year.

The WAS game is interesting. It DOES have all of the markings if a game MN would typically lose. I'm hoping these aren't the same old Vikings and they can go in there and beat an inferior team.

I thought for sure GB would get a WR yesterday. Nope.

Bizarre that they didn't. They have a good defense, and Rodgers is much better when he has at least one reliable WR.

If you take any kind of pleasure in Rogers not happy he doesn't have the receivers he wants you'll prob love this:
