ORIGINAL: TJSweens It's been a good camp. Nice to see a few recent draft choices made their marks during the preseason. None stayed, but they all look pretty close. Everybody saw Jesper Wallstedt was smooth as silk in the goal. He looks like the real deal and could, at long last, give the Wild that franchise goal tender that they have never had. Carson Lambos (D), who was taken a few picks later in the same first round, really made his presence known. The Wild kept him in camp through the first four games of his junior team's season. He could be here as soon as next year. He looks like everything you want in a defenseman; big, strong, fast and skilled. Ryan O'Rourke (D), just went down to Iowa. He could get his first look this year. O'Rourke is a big, mean, nasty blue liner. He believes the best way to separate a man from the puck is to just embed his ass into the boards. He will be that crease clearing blue liner some of us have been wanting for a long time. The kid is smart and a good skater to boot. Worth noting, every team he has played for made him a captain. Daemon Hunt (D) was taken one round after O'Rourke. He gets honorable mention. Also big and fast with a high hockey IQ. Great summary! We also have the smooth skating Faber with the Gophers most likely making the jump next year as well....loaded at D. Now we just need a few guys to help out KK in the scoring department and we are set. Rossi may be ready to help in that regard. He has a goal and a helper tonight. I only caught the last period, but from what I have seen of Rossi so far he sure looks like he belongs on a top line.
